Wright can never start at wing back again for me. Lewis Richards was quality when he came on. Even if he just puts effort in and you take away the fact he rarely gives the ball away, actually wins headers and can win tackles.

But we didn’t lose because of Wright. We certainly didn’t lose because of Smith too, people are quick on here again to dig at Smith, who had a decent effort in the first half deflected and his unselfish link up play and dropping deep got us up the field on a few occasions.

Donny had two quick attacks and they broke us down. And had a purple patch where they looked like they’d score everytime. But after the subs they never looked dangerous again.

Richards set up cook with a cracking cross, he did a few tbh. Oliver won headers and Kav ran about. If we played 10 more mins we’d have got a draw.

There’s a lot of over reaction on here. Donny will likely be top two come the end of the season. If not go on to win the league.

You can bang on about Bromley beating them, but these things happen. Manchester City have lost at home to teams like Wolves, Palace etc but gone on to batter the rest of the league.

It's a shame the next game is a cup game, i would have preferred a league game to try and rectify the result.

Whats the point of bringing in a goalie of "similar standard".If you are going to replace him then you need to bring in someone better.

I thought our general defending was decent in H1. H2 saw Walker and Pointon swap sides and we looked much more vulnerable defensively in midfield from the off, compounded by some poor decision making by the back three who were getting a bit less protection. Why did we not swap Pointon and Walker back when we could see it was not working as well?

I think you need to go back and read the thread. I'm not and never have said that we should be looking to replace him and certainly not with someone of a similar standard.

Has GA acknowledged he dropped the ball with the subs yet?

Just caught up with everything and seen the highlights.

Donny pace and direct power up front tools on the breakaway

We have Smith and his sub Kavanagh whose spacial awareness is absolute garbage for the second week on the spin.

How can he be looking down the line at the post and still remain in an offside position and hardly moving to get another chalked off for offside. I’ve lost my patience with him and so has GA, hence picking Smith with no pace, lightweight and no power. Both heading towards the National League at this rate.

I didn’t see anything other than the 5 mins highlights but we did look a tad unlucky in the last 45 mins?

We weren't unlucky Kev, we were lucky to still be in it. They could have had at least a couple more without breaking sweat on another day.

The highlights won't include the two or three times Donny breached our back line but really messed up. They should have done much better.

Absolutely. There's no way on earth we deserved anything from the game despite a late rally, we just didn't defend anywhere near well enough as a team.

The big man is carrying us at the moment. I'd love to see one of the others get amongst it but it's just not happening.

You talk utter b/s at times Fordy…. Smallwood has been one of our better and more consistent players since the start of the season. One defeat and you pick him as your first target. Boy oh boy.

What's is really frustrating is that we have fitted the most important /hardest part of the attack a man that gets 15 -30 goals a season. Why cant we find a good supporting striker? Thats not that hard. Loans/transfers/ out of contract ?

That’s where I thought Sanderson would fit, pace , more technical ability and big enough to get on the end of crosses . Then the bust up, means he will have to go back or repent!

And Pointon was our best player in the first half. He created 3 or 4 chances in which we should have done better with by either a better final ball or getting a shot away.

I’m sure I’ll get to see more than the highlights at some stage. Knowing the son and SiL would sit and watch Arsenal v Liverpool I would have watched our game myself !! Just taken the gear with me!
