Nice to see that professional football clubs cottoned on to the garbage FGR were playing and are wise enough to stop them.

Sad to see we're only three points ahead of a team in terrible form.

Dunno about that -- various problems come to my mind: the one-off nature of cup matches versus the steady league slog, opponents not necessarily from one's own level in the pyramid, the tendency of some in some cups to put out weakened line-ups, the whole U21 farce in the EFL Trophy. Thus I prefer to keep league and cups separated.

For completeness' sake, might as well finish off this thread...

    1st 10: 5-2-3, 14-9, 17
    2nd 10: 5-3-2, 13-9, 18
    3rd 10: 2-6-2, 9-10, 12
    4th 10: 2-1-4, 8-12, 7
    last 6: - - -

    Home: 11-5-2, 29-14, 38
    Away: 3-7-9, 15-26, 16
    Total: 14-12-11, 44-40, 54

    Leading/Drawing/Trailing at HT

    Leading: 7-2-1, 19-8, 23
    Drawing: 5-7-4, 14-13, 22
    Trailing: 2-3-6, 11-19, 9

    Leading/Trailing at any point

    Leading: 14-5-4, 38-22, 47
    Trailing: 3-3-11, 19-30, 12
    (0-0: 4)

Both led and trailed in same match: Crewe (A), Northampton (H), Cheltenham (A), Carlisle (H), Stevenage (H), Cambridge (A), Newport (A)

    Managers

    Bowyer: 12-11-8, 36-31, 47
    McCall: 2-1-3, 8-9, 7
    - - - - -

Promising beginnings, disappointing conclusion. Promotion candidates at home and with a lead, mostly midtable muddlers otherwise. The January transfer window was -- how surprising! -- a great letdown. Never a settled lineup under Stuart, either, though perhaps that isn't surprising given injuries and player movements. The defensive record remained good, the offensive one poor, and the overall trend was away from wins and draws to draws and losses. The last segment does suggest we would have scored more than under Bowyer, but equally, we were conceding more. Here's hoping for better next season.
