Collins ( I have no answers )

Been a long time since I heard booing at half time. You've gotta feel for the bloke - well done for accepting the job (did he have a choice?), but it's not going to do you any good when the fans have turned on you after just a handful of games. Hand the reigns over to Gregg, go and work on your badges, go and study the game a bit longer, and then maybe get a conference club under your belt.
Footnote: no I don't want Greg as our manager, but I think there's no-one else who would take us on.
ps: I was watching Warnock being interviewed on Football Focus this morning. Love him or loathe him, but that is the exact manager type we need to run our club.

 

Do not hand over the reigns to Gregg!!!! This has got as much to do with him as anyone.

 

Rahic has created a proper clusterf*ck for himself - avoid embarrassment and back his appointment but see his project and investment die in the process as it all falls apart.

Or make the obvious change whilst the season is still there to be had, but show the world how clueless his judgement is.

Totally agree! I just said it, as there is no one who would probably take the keys from Mick!

And agree with the other post. Edin is caught between a rock and a hard place. I can see him looking in the mirror thinking "I made a huge feck up, but I cannot let the fans beat me". Really don't know what he's gonna do. I think if he sacks Collins, then he should do the right thing and walk away too.

 

He looked and sounded like he couldn’t careless either way! He says the same things, we need to address IT and move on?? This is a man that does not know how to evaluate what happened and certainly doesn’t know what is going on. As I said before he comes across as arrogant, I have to,d the players this that and the other, not my fault, we move on is my interpretation. Lack of insight into your own performance makes me cringe!!

 

For a football manager to come out and say "I have no answers" is staggering, this guy is in the position of managing a professional football club, and to come out and say that publicly shows just how naive and inept he really is, OK if that's his real feeling, don't come out and say it in front of a microphone, the fans are already at a loss with his management style but to admit it publicly only shows just how out of his depth he is. I give up.....

But the lads today were sticking so close to the Wycombe players that no-one could pass to them. They were hiding.
Scannell was continuously going for corners so he could pass the buck on to someone else. It was awful.

I very much doubt Collins can turn it around.

 

If Collins feels he doesn’t have answers, then there is a solution, resign from your post.

 

I feel sorry for the lad, once Edin made the offer off head coach he would have been foolish to turn it down, there is one thing having faith in your own ability but even he must have thought this could be to bigger job for me, there is one thing 18,000 singing your name in praise another 18,000 berating your name.

 

Totally agree with you. I don't blame Collins. This is all down to Rahic. He'll ruin this club that fecking idiot.

If he doesn’t know the answers he should admit he’s in the wrong job. This is all Rahic’s doing he has to go before we can think about seeing any improvement

 

I believe that is the reason Edin will not have the likes of a Warnock, Evans, or anyone else who would want control of all matters football.

 

I don't think that will work either. Rahic took one huge gamble and a very stupid one at that. He's thrown Collins under a bus. It barely took 3 games and fans were calling for him to be sacked. That's because hardly anyone saw it as a sensible appointment in the first place. I doubt Greg will get much longer. It would need to be a 'named' manager with decent pedigree otherwise the toxic atmosphere will continue. I said it as soon as I heard about the Collins appointment: we would need some seriously good players for it to work. We haven't got them and there's not a hope we will anytime soon.
There's just so much pressure on everyone now, it's a minefield. There's only one person responsible for that and it ain't Collins.

Yes and Rahic didn't have to ask him either. Who's the biggest fool, Collins for accepting or Rahic for wanting to appoint him in the first place?

 

My thoughts before today's game were that an ACCEPTABLE performance, at home against a newly promoted side, who were so far without a win, would be a tidy 2-0 win with City creating proper chances and maintaining good control of the game. In the event we managed to succeed in doing precisely non of that in what frankly was another utterly pathetic and ineffective performance!

It was shocking to see the team so disorganised and absolutely clueless in all areas of the pitch. There was not one meaningful passage of forward play and yet again we produced nothing by way of a worthwhile attempt on the opposition goal.

Just listening to MC's post match interview only compounds the annoyance with his incessant stream of brass neck excuses.

When MC & co depart (which they surely must do after presiding over this latest VP shambles), the first thing that any incoming manager will recognise is that the players don't look like they've been through a pre-season. That conclusion would be spot on, as we all know what a total waste of time pre-season was in respect of gelling an unfamiliar first team squad and establishing some form if recognised game plan.

Rahic must now be big enough to admit what a huge mistake it's been installing MC & co, relieve them of their duties immediately and install a recognised managerial figure head to try re- establish some belief and momentum. There are certainly plenty of good managerial candidates out there. I seriously believe that unless action is taken and a change is made then we are in grave danger of struggling to stay in L1, we are that disorganised and poor!

We appear particularly weak in midfield with not an ounce of grit or dynamism between Akpan and Wright. Certainly Wright is no leader and appointing him as captain looks a bad mistake. Also we are rapidly in danger of succeeding in making Doyle (a recognised goal scorer) look feeble at this level.

It's tight but there might just be time for a new manager to make a couple of crucial moves in the loan window to bring in a some much needed leadership and that vital target man which might just save our season.

 

I have to say I am concerned. I missed today. I travelled over from just outside Blackpool/Fleetwood where I live and when I got to the ground I found I had brought last season season ticket not this seasons and wasnt allowed in. It seems as if I didn't miss anything at all though. The club is concerning me, the silence from within is concerning, the lack of direction concerning and the fact that Collins has no answers is even more concerning. I want him to succeed, I want every manager and player we have to succeed, but at the moment the only direction we look to be going in is down and our club is beginning to implode.
