I had an argument with one loon on FB about making out that the protests and the general gripe of the fans had nothing to do with it

    I think a number of things contributed to the sudden announcement from Rupp and the appointment of David Sharpe;
The letters sent and returned by Rupp, which in turn lead to the protest.
    The open letter in WOAP
The damning article in the Daily Mail which brought the situation at VP to a national audience.
And finally (and probably the biggest factor) was the mass desertion of fans. It escaped no ones attention that fans were voting with their feet.

Do you think our recent run of form is because a handful of people stood in the carpark with a banner?

Wonder what caused our good run before the protest?

Expands beyond the playing squad. Do you think Sharpe would be here, if the unrest amongst the support base, whether that is protests, apathy amongst season tickets holders etc Al had occurred?

Let's hope that it's sharpened minds within the club and that all parties benefit l, beyond the 23/24 season

    Things that have happened.....
A trip to Germany 'demanded' by the CEO.
    A statement/apology from our owner.
A promise of more funding and better ownership.
    The arrival of David Sharpe.

Make no mistake, these things would not have happened without the unrest of the fans.

Pushing 400 (if you include those short of space that lined walls and stood outside the entrance) is quite a big handful from a matchday attendance that day of maybe 8000. Whilst not all actively protesting vocally for TV pictures later, it's clear there was a lot of discontent and the club took note. If you think there was only a handful, I can only presume you were not there and just saw some of the later images of those behind the banner that did not catch the earlier numbers. A lot of us left when they started swearing. (I might add I'm not a member of the independent supporters group and feel I have not exaggerated the numbers.)

I was there and saw a few people behind a banner and others watching.

Some bloke even gave me a leaflet which I returned to him

I agree I don't think our recent form can be put down to the protest but as many have pointed out off field things certainly look like we are trying to be more professional.
We've seen under Alexander how our form/performance can swing, I don't believe for a minute the team putting a good run together was due to the protest, but yes I certainly believe it has made the man we all wanted to take more interest get involved.

Are you forgetting that the protest happened AFTER Rupp issued his statement acknowledging that things need to change? The timing of the statement release was clearly planned to try and stop the protest taking place altogether and although it wasn't successful in achieving that, I'm pretty sure it would have been a much larger protest had that statement not been released.

Who's attributing the protest to our previous or current form?
Yes, the drop in form was probably the straw that broke the camels back but it was only a symptom of the wider malaise at the club, which is/was due to our absentee owner, a CEO who was losing the PR battle and presiding over a mess calling itself a football club.
Don't think that a 5 match winning run has healed the division between club and fans.
Many fans, and include myself in that number, expect Rupp to live up to the assurances made in his letter and to deliver genuine change at VP.
The appointment of David Sharpe is start, but it shouldn't also be an end.

Well said.....I said after @Loyalbantam@Loyalbantam said after the Accrington win that protest wouldn't happen and I said it still would.... this run just gives a delay for the powers that be to be true to their words. Believe me, if words are only words and the actions don't back it up then protests will start again!!

On the reverse side of things I can't believe that people like @shoatsy@shoatsy think just sitting there doing nothing would have seen these changes happening?

btw - where is @Loyalbantam@Loyalbantam these days? Have I missed something?
