Doncaster and Crewe will likely be one semi, the other will be MK vs us/Barrow/Crawley.

Have a feeling it will be Crawley as Grismby as just trash these days and have the lowest amount of away wins in the league. Although Crawley haven't won at home in 4. But yes, Doncaster are on monster form and getting them at Wembley would be a challenge.

Have to agree, as much as we have everything crossed in the hope we spank Newport and other results go our way, I just cannot see Crawley not beating a Grimsby team who are already on their summer hols

You earn the right to finish where you finish.
Yes we have been poor at times and then we have gone on runs of wining form like this one.
This squad of players should have achieved a playoff place without doubt, not scrambling around at the last minute trying to achieve that.
Its still a long shot, but at least we enter the last match with a chance.
Lets all get down to VP on Saturday and roar our hearts out in support.
That stupid home defeat to Crawley, when 2-1 up heading to extra time , is probably the killer, taking 0 points from them is just madness.

From a selfish point of view I would be gutted if we did get to the play off final after only just realising that the final is on Sunday 19th May at 3pm, my partner's 40th Birthday.
Venue booked, guests invited, food paid for.
No getting out of that unfortunately.
Could have sworn on the EFL website the dates were end of the month and they've changed them to cater for the Champions League Final at Wembley.

That's my hang up on it. I can see Mansfield beating Barrow (hoping they put out a strong team at least) but Grimsby are done. My mums side of the family are out Cleethorpes way and my cousins husband is a Town fan. Messages me twice a season on Facebook whenever we are about to play but this morning I had one saying we've got a slim chance of them doing us a favour on Saturday. Rumour is that Artell wants to clear house this summer and has already told a lot of the lads who are out of a deal that they wont get an offer and is wanting to ship out some dead wood. Morale must be really on the floor.

Barrow are done, 1 point from 18 they're finished. Crawley are the threat in my opinion. Speaking of Barrow, I've never seen a team so near the line blow up as bad as this, 4 games ago they were 13 point ahead of us with a game in hand.

If nothing was booked I would be off.
£300 deposit for a large booking and nearly 30 guests all confirmed dictate I can't cancel it

They've proper bottled it. Depending on Stockton and Telford, both of whom look to have had their career one or two good seasons already pass them by before becoming L2 journeymen.

If anyone wants a really obscure and unlikely way of us getting top 7 then a City 7-0 win and Barrow drawing 3-3 plus Crawley failing to win would leave us and Barrow on the same points, GD and GF, next criteria is head to head but as both games were 2-1 that is level so it comes down to wins and we would win that 19 to 18.

Didn't Bristol Rovers score 7 on the final day to pip a promotion spot on this method just a few years ago? Against Scunthorpe side which was ruined mentally and on the worst form in the league (kind of like Newport might be now)..... You never know?

Guessing Newport will come down on the Friday? Does anyone know the Cedar Court chef? :p Have a Spurs situation from about 15/20 years back? I think it was West Ham they were playing or something like that? Tottenham needed a win for top 4, the chef at the hotel the night before was an Arsenal fan and allegedly popped something in the food and the Spurs squad spent the entire night and morning of very very poorly.

Didn't we interview Artell for the manager's job and turn him down? I hope he isn't a man that holds grudges.

We've got to do our job and just hope the pressure gets to two sides who aren't in good form.

Really cannot believe we're in with a chance after the games I've watched this season.

Evening all, Newport fan in peace.
We've done the complete opposite to Doncaster over the past few games. Hard to believe that had we beat Colchester on Good Friday, we would have gone into the Crawley game on Easter Monday where (i believe) momentum would have got us into the playoffs.
Unfortunately, it all went to pot and we've lost every game since! Inexcusable to lose every game but the squad is so bare we are fielding and over exposing 2nd year scholars into the first team.
Still, for myself and more or less every other County fan, this was THE season we went down as we didn't(still don't) have a pot to do the proverbial in, so anything other than the trap door was deemed a success. Just an absolute kicker of what sort of miracle we could have pulled off.
Nonetheless, my first trip to Valley Parade so any advice of pubs etc would be gratefully received. Is it true the Bradford Arms allow away fans? Myself and 6 other family members are coming up as my uncle is 65 on Saturday, so as a present.....please keep the score below 10! :sob:

Welcome! I would recommend Corn Dolly and Exchange for real ale in the main city centre. Walk up to North Parade, and there are more ale bars with beer and lagers, etc. Record Cafe, for example. Then walk on to the Bradford Arms (away pub) and I believe in there it's your bog standard drink options.
