Could not be arsed to go yesterday. Seen the goal and read the mixed match comments on here. Looks like I missed not a lot....

Took in Coventry v Leeds....a thoroughly enjoyable game and result.

    Up the Sky Blues

As normal, i have waited to post and give myself time to reflect on the game.
Not as fluent as the Tranmere game , but a win is a win, 3 more like that over the season and we would be sat in the playoffs, which shows how poor the league and we have been this year.
Gillingham were poor and quite physical how they got away with some of the challenges second half , the one on Ogeyoke and then their player pushing him over and both getting a yellow , summed up how poor the ref was

If you specifically took the Crawley home game where we were winning with two minutes to go and somehow lost, then win that and with the points swing between us and Crawley a single extra victory would have us sat 7th. It's crazy how rubbish this league is.

Despite being told by Hughes and Sparks at the fans forum, that the league was stronger than last season and there was nothing between the bottom half league one and top half league two. I think Carlisle would beg to differ.

How hard is it to stomach that holding on to the winning position v Crawley and beating either FGR or Notts County would have us in 7th. Sickening.

    Its really frustrating mate.
This squad of players, should have done much better than they actually have.
Yes we have had injuries, but all teams have,
Set pieces in both boxes have been poor and is something that needs looking at, learn to defend and attack at corners and free kicks and the league table would be so much different.
Quality of delivery has been poor at both as well.
    Maybe next season.

We didn't struggle with the jump from League Two to League One last time, and we were statistically the worst team to go up that year (7th place finish).

If we'd gone up under Hughes we'd have likely survived comfortably even if we had a 'bad' season.

But the top end of League One is a world away from the top end of League Two, that's for sure.

That quality in the top half of league one will only increase (as it is in the championship) with the money being spent. It’s imperative that we get our house in order sooner rather than later.

'Official' attendance figures now announced for the game .... 16,735! That's some bounce back from David Sharpe's arrival! ;)

In fairness the other 3 clubs with them all sat in the top half. Carlisle's 2 issues were that they weren't a great side last year and struggled to win against the top sides. Also losing Moxon to Portsmouth was a massive loss that they couldn't replace. If you look back over the last 20 years very few clubs have come up from league 2 and gone straight back down.

I think a lot of Carlisle fans would disagree with you about Moxon. They said he was the shadow of the player he was for them last season and many were happy to see him leave.

Looking more and more likely by the week, don't you think. There's always a team with momentum and I think it's going to go to the wire for Donny. If they sneak in I'd fancy them to go up. To think they were about 5 points behind us having played a couple more (I think), about 5 or 6 weeks ago, those run of four losses were catastrophic for our slim chances.

It's an incredible run. They were 22nd at the start of February. I still think the most likely outcome is they will just miss out but I certainly wouldn't bet against them sneaking into 7th.

Huge win last night for them. Still can't see them making up a 4 point swing in 4 games with all the others too battling, still think it's that little bit too congested.

To think, they'd be 14th right now if Mullin just let the ball role into the net the other week rather than be a greedy idiot and tap in shot that was already going in when he was about 5 yards offside.
