Just give him a full season with at least two transfer windows of his own

This narrative of "give a manager two transfer windows before assessing him properly" has got to stop. it puts us down a rabbit hole of the manager bringing in his own players, it inevitably not working an 12 months down the line, we need a new manager and a bunch of players who the new manager most likely wont want

On the other hand, if a manager has shown that his style of football can be productive an fruitful, then by all means, give them a chance to build their own team. Parky showed signs of this, as did Hughes. Adams had pedigree in this league, as did Bowyer. Alexander on the other hand has had since November to figure things out but hasnt. His style of football isnt attractive, an if it doesnt work, it backfires badly, for several games. The squad hasn't been utilised to its fullest abilities. There was more than enough firepower in this team to get us up. Its just been mismanaged

For that reason, id prefer if we got rid of GA an brought in someone new. Ideally before the summer window commences

Not too fussed either way with Alexander however I do not believe he is the man to get us promoted or establish us as a L1 club
Would prefer Sharpe to pick his own management team and if that means getting rid of Alexander Gent and assistants then so be it why employ him otherwise
Hopefully Sharpe is the man to turn our club around he has to be backed and RS (if he's staying) needs to find something else to do with absolutely no involvement in anything to do with football there is a danger of him making DS the scapegoat tho
We have so many problems at the moment I fear next season will be same old there's no quick fix, appointing manager after manager will not solve anything as we are at the moment

It is a big call to keep Alexandra no question. He has made mistakes, no doubt about it, and his football at times is zzzzzzz. However, it is our previous 2/3 years of mismanagement that is now coming home to roost. We don’t ge to just forget about it even if we have a new DOF. Our reputation for sacking managers has to come into the equation, not to mention the millions we have wasted with appointing the wrong managers either. My question is can he win games when push comes to shove? The jury is still out unfortunately. Now then do we want to take the risk? Well the risks has been minimised with the appointment of Sharpe. So we really are in unknown territory. Will Sharpe insist on a style of football that can get us out of this league, and can Alexandra manage a style that he is less comfortable with? This is where we are, after years of lack of positive leadership. I expect Rupp to step up to the plate and fund what is required quality over quantity.

If we are gonna do it then simply do it now and if we aint then he needs at least a good full season.
I simply cannot cope with another season of 10 games in we make a change and we are back into the normal routine of fooking up a campaign yet again.

I personally think he should be given a shot at it yes the performances aint been nothing special but i cannot recall Parkys football being spectacular during his part season in 2011.

We dont know what gone off in the background maybe of reprts are right that a fair few of these players dont want him here ...........lets not forget a fair few of these players where still underperforming before GA came through the door.
Rather the majority of that lot where shifted out before GA

If you don't think he is the manager to get us promoted, surely you would want him out now then, rather than sitting on the fence?

We are not privy to what was said in the behind closed door meeting the other day but I will make a valid assumption that Graham Alexander will be at the helm for the start of the 24/25 season despite calls from some quarters of our fanbase for his contract to be terminated.
I'm sick and tired of changing managers season upon season. Alexander has only been here two minutes how do we expect and achieve stability within the club with this constant up evil every year by taking the easy option of sacking the manager.
We all know the problem and constantly repeating the "other issues" comment is wearing thin to be perfectly honest.
Even the ticket office staff are using it.

I agree with you. There's more to play out yet with the critical question remaining unanswered. What is David Sharpe's role? Has the former Mansfield CEO been recruited as Head of Football Operations to sit alongside Alexander and Gent or if you like with the same status as them, doing whatever Alexander and Gent aren't doing on the footballing side? Or is he really in all but name the DoF and Alexander and Gent report to him rather than to Sparks with Sharpe being responsible for pulling together every aspect of the footballing side including recruitment, contracts, longer term footballing development? Or is he really the CEO in waiting? ;)

I expect questions continuing to be asked until his role becomes clearer. The club, in reality Rupp and Sparks, need to get their heads around this and stop avoiding difficult questions. Until the fundamental questions are answered, sacking the manager at this stage is like moving the deckchairs around on the Titanic whilst the ship is sinking.

The other issue with changing managers at this stage is who would come? Even with the addition of Sharpe, I think it's probably too early for anyone worth having to be interested.

We need a plan from the top which hopefully Sharpe will put in place, what style do we want to identify with as a club, what manager fits that style, what infrastructure do we need, what players do we need. Until we have that it's pointless sacking him, we'd just be doing what we've always done and get the wrong person in again for another wasted season

Agree, get those things sorted as quickly as is practical to get it right,
    Then sack him.

Not for a second do I expect Alexander to be sacked, but I cannot see past a dismissal 10 or so games into next season when the quality of football hasn't improved.

Neither do I but quite honestly the squad will be ripped apart in the summer with several departures.
The new kids on the block won't know the Hughes or McDonald way of playing.
If the quality and balance of summer recruitment fails miserably don't just blame the manager.

More questions than answers regarding the DS appointment which is no surprise
I sincerely hope he has been brought in as superior to GA SG and the team management team or we are building on quicksand again which we all know doesn't work
Don't suppose we will get clarity from the dynamic duo either, anything else is a waste of a wage
As per your CEO in waiting comment I very much doubt it Rupp won't want to upset the status quo at the top they would both have to go at the same time or stay as is
My hope is that RS has been told to leave ALL footballing decisions to DS and carry on trying to raise income for him although "Saturation Point" for sponsors cant be far away
As for GA he will either stand or fall under DS always assuming he is answerable to him !!!! am really not bothered either way at the moment a new manager would indeed just be rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic

Why blame the Manager for the way the players perform
Out of position should not stop them making a decent pass occasionally
Football is played with feet, not waving hands about or strutting with them on hips.
For years we’ve had some poor players

What is important is that Sharpe and Alexander agree on a style of play that won’t change when the manager leaves. The new manager then will be recruited to play the same style.

I still believe firmly having three managers albeit one was temporary of course during a season put paid to a successful campaign.

In a sense, that's exactly what is necessary. We all saw how a lack of continuity and consistency led to the demise of Hughes and a replacement in Alexander with a very different approach.

Run that situation forward with the new structure as described by Sparks ...

Sharpe: I want a squad who can play 3-5-2 with wingbacks and a solid little and large strikeforce to get on the end of crosses

Alexander: I want a squad capable of playing 4-3-3 with conventional fullbacks and a mobile and fluid front three picking up on balls from central midfield

Gent: I'll pop up to Boro and check whether they have fullbacks who can double up as wingbacks. Oh yes, and a Cook type who can run around a bit more

Academy manager: Er, how do I address those two different approaches in developing players for the future through the academy?

Over to you Sparks for the final decision ....
