Funny game. Could have gone either way in the first half hour. However by the end of the game if it had ended say 5-2, it wouldn’t have been surprising.
We looked a lot better playing it largely on the deck. Even Smith who struggled at times, contributed to the movement.
Far more entertaining to watch. A superb goal from Pointon.

I didn’t say that Cook is the reason we’ve had a bad season. Just that there have been a few games now where we’ve looked really dynamic up front when we’ve had the younger more mobile players in attack. Walker and Pointon definitely contributed to that today as well.

I’ve said before, despite his goal scoring record being pretty decent this season I don’t feel like I’ve come away from many games this season thinking that Cook has a great game. He has a part to play in the team for sure but I’m not sure he’s a guaranteed starter every week for me.

Reading the Tranmere forum, they've also pointed out Pointon as the best player on the pitch, said our pitch didn't work for their winger Apter, they're glad they pulled clear of relegation, but need serious improvements next season.

Interestingly they moan they're sick of gifting points to the most off-form teams :no_mouth:

So many seats empty around myself too. Tbh, those around me spent there time chatting with Pat and Chris confirming they won't be renewing till Rupp goes....

Don't get this severe criticism of Smith yesterday.

I thought his movement, linking up with Kavanagh, and knack of being in the right place yesterday, was very good. Yes, unfortunately, apart from the disallowed goal, his finishing let him down.

There is definitely a player there for me, who just seems to lack confidence at times, and clearly needs to work on his finishing.

MotM was kavanagh and not Pointon as announced in the ground.

More lies and spin in from that Twit trying to run the club.

I quite enjoyed the game yesterday.

We played some decent football at times.

GA is in a position now where he has six games to really look at some of the players that he has under contract for next season.

I'm not convinced by Tyler Smith yet, but I would give him a run now. If he can get some confidence/luck then there could be a player there.

Richards, Pointon, Kavanagh should all be playing most of the minutes for the rest of the season. I would like Adam Wilson also given a chance.

This season has been a huge disappointment, but it would be good for the season to finish with a few wins and some partnerships building with players who will be (or likely) with us next season.

An excellent performance, and it makes you wonder how we can go from the dross of the last 4 games to that. Night and day.

You have excellent eyesight from 20 miles away mate.
    Only kidding.
You missed a decent game for once. Cook being out was key in my mind, We played the ball on the mud , moved the ball at pace and quite accurate .
The forward thinking players were very mobile.

What are you on about? Kavanagh was announced as the sponsor's MOTM in the ground. Pointon got the fans MOTM on twitter.

It baffled me after the Wycombe game that we reverted back the hoofball paceless set up.

We will beat Grimsby results will no doubt go our way and we will then have the chance to move closer with a win against Gillingham and thats when the normal Bradford City will turn up :(

Its ok performing when the seasons dead this should have been happing after the Accrington game.
Two wins out of that lot would have had us right in the mix for me that run of losses will cost us dearly

I suspect they won’t be renewing then because there’s little sign of anyone buying Rupp out.

I was away so missed the game, but kept an eye out on live score. As soon as I saw we had gone 1 up I knew we’d win, we seem to be a top team when we take the lead and the worst in the league when we fall behind, no doubt had we fallen behind we’d have seen a replica of the previous 4 games, but if we’d taken the lead in any of them we certainly wouldn’t have lost 4 on the bounce.

Anyway I wasn’t so bothered with the result as the seasons dead but more who scored, I was delighted to see the two goal scorers, two young lads who have more ability than most of the journeymen and loanees who have been getting game time recently. Start the younger lads GA ffs and give us something to get behind.

Great performance after a dire first half. Super goal by Pointon. Should have kept him on, he was buzzing. Might be going against the grain, but I think Smith and Kavanagh are woeful. Too lightweight and not much skill or judgement between them. Was nice to see us trying to play football on the deck for a change rather than hoofing to Cook. If those front two improve, I can see them being first choice next season.

Once again the state of the officials have to be questioned. They are truly appalling at this level, and seem to get worse every season

The majority of lino’s always seem to be in their mid 50’s, can’t keep up to play, and never look where they should. For instance, there was a ball played down the touchline on the midland road side in the first half by a Tranmere player, it clearly bent into touch like a banana and came back in play to their attacker, but the lino totally missed it as he was trying to keep up with play. And expecting the ref to see it, well what a joke

Having said all that though, you can’t blame the officials for Smith being a terrible excuse for a striker. Was he another one sparks gave a 3 year contract to…? :x3:

It's baffled me too, especially the omission of Pointon. I mean it's not as though the more attacking players that he did select were playing out of their skins. Far from it, yet he continued to use a safety first policy IMO. . . . . you'll never win anything with kids.
We will never know. Small margins but put on just 3 or 4 points to our current tally, we would still be in with a fair chance of making the play offs.
