I think Smith is capable of scoring 20 goals a season. The right manager will get it out of him. Hes got a nice bit of pace and has the ability to constantly get into goal scoring positions. His problem is his confidence seems to be shot an because of that, he cant hit a barn door with a bazooka. I think with a different manager, he'd come good

I dont like it, the squad has a bottle job mentality. Happened last season an now its happened again. We play well until things are in our hands. The moment we are in control of our future, we drop the ball

I expect a top half finish, if the squad is utilised correctly, but play offs is a step too far. We could end up winning the next 5 games, an then put ourselves in the driving seat, but I guarantee you, this group of players would bottle the season finale an we'd drop out of the play-offs

We will definitely have a moment between now and the end of the season where the play offs start looking like a distinct possibility. We will beat Grimsby and Gillingham to set up an exciting but ultimately disappointing end to the season is my bet.

I think we are mathematically safe now to stay up :p

Some good movement off the ball today saw us create some great chances. Pointon has to play for the remaining games as he creates something out of nothing.

Look to have a good player in Kavanah just hope he can keep on his feet more often.

Let's be honest Tranmere were woeful but we can only beat what is in front of us. And we did.

Onto the Mariners who are fighting for their league place.

I was watching on ifollow amd watched the replay. He got in fron of the defender close to him when the initial shot went but the defender in the centre looked to be a few paces back and playing him on.

This is not a Alexander bashing comment but after reading this :
Bradford City have recalled Heath Richardson from his loan spell at Cleethorpes Town with immediate effect, followed by :
He was inspired in Cleethorpes' league game at home to Carlton Town on Wednesday night, and was awarded man of the match for a superb display in his side's 2-0 win, one may have thought the kid had earned himself a place on the bench to acknowledge what he's achieved on loan, the first steps of being involved in the real men's game, oh no we recall him "with immediate affect" then leave him out of gaining that experience of being on the bench, I'm sure Doyle would have been more than happy to move over for a game or so.

Disagree-no matter who the manager is Smith has the capability to score goals but his miss today right in front of goal is why he is with us and not in the Championship. Gets into great positions. Nothing to do with confidence. He is just too hit and miss (pardon the pun).

Well that was so much better, could have been behind early on , but built into the game and a deserved win and could and maybe should have scored more. Pointon, Kavanagh and Walker were all very good today, Smith could have been on that list, but really needs to work on the finishing.
All a good 6 and above and Walker the keeper with 2 great saves second half.
More of that please and build the confidence for next season.
I am not having the Tranmere were shite argument, they were no worse than many a team to visit VP , we just wanted it more and had that little bit more quality for once.

Good point. I had forgotten their guy had a free header in the second minute and put it wide. Wonder what would have happened if that had gone in.

Well done to the lads today - enjoyable game, had a good go. Superb hit from Bobby - what a way to justify his eventual inclusion. Keep building that momentum now.

We might have crumbled like the past 4 games and sometimes you just need something to go your way.
Its often fine margins at our level.

The pressing of our team today was much better and if we played with that team and the same intensity against Harrogate, a different result I'm sure we would have seen.

Cook being out, meant we had to keep the ball on the deck more than usual, which we did and moved it well between the forward players,
Some of the link up play was very good and what a finish by Bobby.

Dave, in all honesty Tranmere were awful today. Hit and hope for most of the game. Heads went down after we scored. Two pieces of good play by us undid them. Our high press did cause them lots of issues as well.
