The thing is, even if Rupp were to put some cash in (which I very much doubt), if its done under the same regime and absent of any strategy, it could actually make our problems worse.

If, and it's a big IF we do bring in a DOF with the brief of giving City an identity and definite footballing style. How long does said DOF and the manager ( whoever that is) get to stamp this identity and recruit the correct quantity and most importantly quality of players to put the plans into action?

 

United we stand divided we fall. So Sparks is going nowhere after head to head talks, however he will likely be aided in his position by a another to deal with the football matters. This is great news IMHO. Maybe a hero giving up the golf to return?

I welcome this personally. Time to unite and get behind the team. It would have been so easy to relieve sparks or Alexander of their duties.

Instead Rupp is going down the Mansfield model and well done to him. Stability is key and we now have a chairman who has learned by his mistakes.

Once again discontent has brought this to a head. It needed done. But bravo we are now pulling in the same direction. Positivity is key. Let’s go City.

to be fair Dennis and in all honesty, folk never liked my replies because they had a habit of becoming true. Get behind the team and stop the negativity. Once we sort out VP we will become a force. The time is coming when we will have a home that’s ours. Mark my words and feel free to belittle me it will make it all the sweeter when I return and have the last laugh at you and stork etc. Sparks stays but another to help on football matters I’m happy so should you if you have city at heart.

 

I don't think Rupp will invest just to improve the product on offer. The only time I can see him putting more cash in is if a scenario emerges where if he doesn't, then he's at risk of the club being relegated and his investment being worth next to nothing. A significant reduction in season ticket sales may create that scenario and as much as I'd hate to see the club really struggling, Rupp's mismanagement combined with his lack of interest and oversight has systematically created the situation that's lead to many supporters saying 'enough is enough' and adopting the NAPM approach.

 

Honestly, I would expect us to be challenging for the playoffs again next season.

It's not as though we are in the situation of Rotherham looking up at the likes of Leicester City and Leeds United.

We are in a league in which, with the odd outlier, is pretty equal from competitive perspective. Get organised, get the right players to play the system and a bit of luck with injuries and we should be there or thereabouts along with a dozen or so other teams.

It might take another season to move into the stronger group of 4-5 that are just that bit better and stronger than the rest of the division.

The elephants in the room are the pitch and what seems to be level of injuries we incur.

 

Probably not a lot of point to the letter, unless things are acted on. Things are so bad at the moment and the atmosphere so toxic that whatever is in the letter in most people's eyes it will come over as empty retoric or they will think it has been written by Ryan Sparks. Then there are those who will be open minded about its content. There are also those who will be quite upbeat and positive about the content of the letter, they will be grouped as "Happy Clappers" by the brave keyboard warriors amongst us. The letter is also too late to have a positive affect on season ticket sales. So if it is written by Stefan Rupp and a genuine attempt to show that he has woken up to the severity of the club's situation it is probably a waste of time and he would be better off just getting on with it and letting fans judge him by his actions OR lack of action.

What i can't reconcile from his statement is that on the one hand he's saying he's open to offers, but he's also saying he's going to materially put his own cash in to drive us forward. It makes no sense.

The more I look at it, the more it looks like a PR stunt, probably with a DoF of sorts thrown in to give the illusion of a step change in approach.

 

Agree not the place for kids, lets hope it goes of without incident and the team provide a good entertaining game for the few who'll be in attendance,

 

This fanbase has done nothing BUT get behind this team, and has been shat upon from great heights by a mixture of incompetence, disinterest and disdain from those running it. Owner, executives, manager and coaches, players - they're the ones who need to pull their socks up, NOT one of the most committed and supportive group of fans you'll find in the country.
