Yes it’s a strange one although I’m sure our ST’s in previous years have been on sale even earlier than this?
The decision to set the seat retention so early is also a baffling one but one which I believe Sparks has consciously taken as a ploy to increase sales by way of putting fear of losing seats near family and friends into their thought process.

Most clubs have them on sale now and lots have an early bird discount before the end of the season. The reason clubs do it now is to get people locked in and also generate some cash ahead of the summer months where there have no money coming in. Just some of the clubs:
    • Barnsley (early bird deadline 25th April)
    • Bristol Rovers (early bird deadline already passed, tickets went on sale in February)
    • Peterborough (early bird deadline 30th April)
    • Norwich City (early bird deadline already passed, tickets went on sale in February)
    • Bolton (early bird deadline already passed, tickets went on sale in February)
    • Leeds (early bird deadline 8th April)
    • Millwall (early bird deadline 3rd April)
    • Swansea (early bird deadline was in February with a further deadline for middle pricing this Sunday)
    • Middlesbrough ( early bird deadline Saturday)
    • Sheffield Wednesday (went on sale January, early bird deadline in February, further 2 phases already closed)
    • Watford (early bird deadline 12th April)
    • Accrington (early bird deadline 22nd April)
    • Derby (early bird deadline 26th April)
    • Sutton (early bird deadline 12th April)
This is just from a quick google search and covers 20% of the EFL

But we're still only being asked to pay National League North prices for league 2 football. A bargain!

Nobody would have any need to contact them about tickets, the ticket office are responsible for handling queries

It is not the price that is putting ppl off it is other factors. I doubt we would be in this position if the the club was run properly. A cynical ploy to to get ppl tied up their seats and commitment in my view. One that I very much doubt will pay off. However nothing surprises me about Bradford City atm.

But when there’s a 25,000 seater stadium and we’re probably going to have around 8,000 season ticket holders there’s going to be plenty of room.

The selling of season tickets with an early deadline is not cynical but the loss of seat retention possibly is

So the club aren’t really doing anything different to other clubs but some just need an excuse to bash them.

What is cynical about a supporter giving up their seat?

It's not cynical, it's standard within football to get people committed early. As I posted earlier lots of clubs have an early bird deadline before the end of the season with some already passed. If the club leave the deadline to the end of June or even later then people will renew later on as people like to keep money in their account for as long as they can. In that time the club have to get through May/June with little cash flow which is another reason for releasing season tickets at this time.

I fully accept that the club needs the cash and posted as much. However, our club is a complete mess and fans feel ignored and left out of the loop. An early communication with the fans might have been the best way. Possible early February to giving the heads up.
