Once again raises concerns about what Sparks says… didn’t he say we get nothing from the owner and we have to be self sustaining? So what’s this 500k he’s put in then?

Imagine giving a manager 4 years of non-promotion and not sacking him 10 times during that period.

 

It was a mystery for sure. I thought he knew what his best 11 were but he has decided to reshuffle again and came undone. He must play his best 11 unless any of them get injured. We do not have a competitive squad no matter what he says. We don’t really have a competitive 11 and certainly not playoffs candidates. What we saw from Mansfield was auto promotion quality. It cannot be achieved overnight.

I think GA is trying to fulfill what we all want, but it is not possible with the squad he has. He now needs to have a serious talk to himself. It can’t be done.
I want to see him as our manager next season. I don’t think we have done ourselves any favours constantly sacking managers. He has a good record in this division so let him do his job.

Rupp need a fully qualified CEO and Football Director. It is about time he recognised that the football at this level has moved on. Trying to do it on the cheap/sustainable will see us fall out of the league.

It was an amazing feat. Quite difficult to do I believe. Somehow executed it perfectly. Just about the only noticeable thing he did today.

 

I said at the time of the radio Leeds 'forum' that we only had Sparks word for it that the club vision was to stay in the EFL and not go bust. It appears from what Rupp said today that his vision might be different, allegedly putting an extra 500k into the playing budget because he didn't think it was high enough. The only thing we know for sure is that at least one of them is lying.

 

I share the apathy of others. Just couldnt care less at the moment. Used to get angry but felt nothing as the goals crashed in. Don’t bother with midweek games and might not even bother renewing this year. We need Sparks the blagger out asap. Ideally Rupp too.

I hope the ST campaign flops and it speeds up Rupp pulling the trigger….then we extend deadline and a load renew last minute (myself included).

Football is meant to be a form of entertainment. Where is the entertainment in watching that?

that said, well done Mansfield. Best team in division by far. Surely win league if avoiding key injuries.

 

Maybe a bit too soon for magnanimous comments like this but my take away from this was how superb Mansfield were. It's not a defense of our ineptitude but just an observation. It was the best display I can remember against us in all our time in L2. They were everything I want us to be. Fit, strong, precise, fast, clinical, organised, technically sound, everything.

 

Did he have his head on back to front?

 

I think that's what Hughes mistook Taylor for. Where were we when Aiden Flint was free ?

 

If Rupp sacked Sparks and replaced him with, say, Paul Jewell (I dunno, a football man who has run a club before), I'd renew in an instant. I would have massive, massive doubts over Stefan himself, who appears to be completely inept and should be nowhere near a football club after dishing out Edin Rahic and then Ryan Sparks, but someone like Jewell alongside maybe another legend or two in the board room would tell me we're finally focusing on what matters - the football - and not just leaving it to random uni graduates and whoever happened to be employed at the club at the time.

More likely, though, is another internal promotion.

This is the same mighty Mansfield that lost to Tranmere on Tuesday.
They aren't anything special, it's just that we were set up to fail today and obliged spectacularly.
It's like us at Accrington, played a team on a poor run and we looked great.
