I actually laughed when the 3rd and 4th goals went in. After seeing the team selection on the way to VP I knew it would be bad, didn't think it would be that bad, but I still stuck it out for 86 minutes.

There was a time when a performance and result like that would put me in a terrible mood all weekend. Now, I genuinely don't give a shite.

It was a genuine question. I don't know much about him or anyone else who holds a similar position at the club. Don't get arsey with me again.

I liked your post because I understand the sentiment entirely, but it's really sad :pensive:

I think that's me done for the season. Sparks has to go before anything changes.

Agree especially when post match he comes out and says he doesn't regret his starting selection.

Him, Piergianni at Stevenage - both solid defenders who know what they're doing. Not pretty but defend. Both going to have promotions under their belt. That's the kind of defender we need.

Beat by a better team. Faster stronger and took their chance. We missed ours.

we have a more technical team, soon as come up against any stronger physical team we don’t know how to compete.

get over it and have a few beers. It’s only football

Well, I have just got back home after my 4 hour, 160 mile round trip. I have been watching City for over 40 years, my dad for over 80. I can’t remember a time where we played as badly as that performance today. It was shambolic.

As others have said already, there was laughter when goals were going in, but there was also some pretty toxic things being said. I drove home tonight without really caring about the match. That’s not right is it. I should be bothered about how my team played and the fact that they lost, but it’s just the norm now. I work with fleetwood, Blackpool, Preston, Blackburn and port vale season ticket holders, all of whom are in divisions higher than us and who laugh at me daily! I don’t mind too much, it’s part of being a football fan, but it’s different now this season. We are the laughing stock of the football world with our pitch, our owner doesn’t seem to care less, our players are not good enough and I don’t see how that is going to change overnight. If I thought long and hard about it I would probably make myself ill and get depressed.

Where do we go from here? When are things going to change? What on earth can we do now?

Worst beating down i've seen us take since Bristol City about 7 years ago. In fairness 5-1 flattered us, could easily have been 8 or 9, but primarily we lost this game before we'd even kicked off. Not to take anything away from an excellent Mansfield side who showed why they are top, as an attacking threat they simply tore us to shreds time and again. But going with that formation and line up was always an accident waiting to happen. Which by half time turned out to be terminal. Ranks amongst some of the dumbest managerial decision making i've seen in my time watching City, its the sort of thing i saw Bowyer, Adams and Hopkin do.

This is apparently the city fan that spoke to Rupp at half time.

My best friend is a Port Vale fan and they are coming back down this season and it sounds like the fans are absolutely livid about it and are putting the blame on the DoF. They’re planning protests, banners alongside other things. They have form for a good protest at Vale Park and it has resulted in positive change. I often think I wish our fan base had that passion. Not a chance Vale fans would have allowed Rupp get away with attending today while getting smashed 1-5 at home.

He should have a good idea of who is capable within this squad to be a regular in a team that is hopefully going for promotion, like Hughes before him he will have had plenty of time to asses the players he may want to keep either and the type of player he wants to bring in.
I agree with a fresh start I think he could do a job but once again to achieve what he's looking for will mean a lot of ins and outs, when I saw that starting 11 I though after Tuesday night he'd selected those starters and expected a similar sort of display as against Wycombe, unfortunately with getting off to the start Mansfield did we had no sort of formation/leadership/focal point to play to, at 2 - 0 it was going to be difficult but at 3 - 0 there was no way back.
We stopped the rot at Notts County after that shocking first half but Mansfield IMO are a far better team that has taken Clough 4 years to get together, they look to have quality throughout the team, Flint looks a class above league two but then Alexander made it easy for him with no aerial presence he was more than happy to cruise through the game.
Will today arse kicking bring things to a head, I was not surprise when fans were ringing in and texting WYSD quoting they will not be renewing next season, I'm sure they weren't all Bantam Talk members, once these fans leave there is so much to do these days it will take something special to get them back, will cheap season ticket be enough.

I'm not a vindictive guy although a few might think differently, I hope his family were sat with Rupp today and when fans showed their anger and today no one could blame them, his wife or children tell him as a family they don't need this sort of aggravation and he needs to think seriously about what the future holds for both him, his family and of course the main people Bradford City supporters, because what we experienced today isn't good for anyone, having said that I wont be holding my breath.

Well that certainly clears up any confusion who the crowd in the lower tier of the main stand were angrily gesturing too, with it being near the press box many of us above thought that was where Alexander sat to get a better view of the game

They're a bit mean laughing at us, we're a beat dog, you'd have thought we'd have progressed to pity by now.
