pointless having hot water when they can't even fix the taps so that they actually turn off.

Only the insecure are embarrassed by rain failing and a football match postponed. You might be embarrassed , I ain’t . Annoyed the weather has ruined a game day yes , “embarrassment” is for the birds!

I mentioned earlier today. Colchester , relatively new ground, purpose built , flat level ground, top quality foundations, plenty of grass enough to embarrass a golf course and their game was postponed due to waterlogged playing surface. Care to explain why they aren’t as embarrassed as you claim you are?

Have you actually got any statistical evidence to back this up?

Hopefully the EFL kick us out of the league, then we can install a 4G pitch.

    Problem solved all round.

All these comments on “can’t help the rain” are embarrassing more so than our pitch

No issues 10miles down the road

Mustn’t have been raining in Huddersfield today

The embarrassment is not because it rained and a game was postponed, it’s because we are a pro football club whose critical business function requires a functional football pitch, yet we are affected by these weather events more than most. And even when games are played, the general state of the playing surface is beyond a disgrace. It’s embarrassing

Always expected Bantam J and RC Bantam to be back having a go at our own club. We don’t hear from them when we have a win but when something negative happens their never off wanting the club to be fined or worse.

We need a bit of luck with the weather on our remaining home games. Had our game been played today with the sun shining it would have been on with no problem. Not a bad forecast for next week so we may play against Doncaster.

A lot of remedial work was done on the pitch a few years ago costing a lot of money. For the last couple of seasons the pitch stood up well. Now it has deteriorated beyond reason. Was there no guarantee or comeback on the work done.

GA has said they booked the artificial pitch as a precaution so they could have a training session if the game didn't go ahead. There was obviously and quite rightly doubt about it on Friday when it bucketed it down most of the day, which just makes the announcement made by the club at 11am yesterday even more embarrassing.

Smallwood enduring the longest 2 match ban imaginable. He might get a game by Easter at this rate

Is this the stadium that is owned three ways Town , Giants and Kirklees council, That has a championship football club a super league club and council imput, that has hosted premier league football within the past five years, and all the money that now brings, is around 30 years old, but in need of maintenance that the 3 share holders can not agree who pays for it.
Grow up , if you don't have a serious post to make, then don't post anything at all. Leave the debate to the adult's.

    That’s an embarrassing response
I’m sure we were in the premier league before them but instead we focused on loans to build new stands and paying over the top wages
Instead we could’ve fixed our pitch that almost cost us promotion to the premier league in the first place.

Now we have no pot to piss in with a £400k rental of this shithole

And that is even more embarrassing , the income gained whilst we were in the premier league was a fraction of what town received, Income they got after their stadium had been built on the back of selling Leeds rd , Fartown and local authority backing.
Where would we be now , if Bradford council had shown such vision , sold off their pipe dream of odsal, backed both sports clubs and built a modern community stadium for both clubs.
The fact is they went the other way and tried all they could to force us from VP after the fire, and have done nothing to help the club at any time before or after.
Valley Parade and the city of Bradford is not a shithole and its people with your attitude that keep it down.
Why not post a positive suggestion, something that might be achievable, or even better. put your hand into your pocket and spend the multimillions it would take to make things better.

It is nearly a quarter of a century since we were in the Premier League. Even if we installed a state of the art pitch and under soil heating etc it would be no good now without big investment. The technology around pitches has grown massively in the last 10-15 years never mind 20-25 years. This was Stamford Bridge pitch in 2003
    [IMG]
There is a reason that the pitch looked fine before the Liverpool game and deteriorated massively after the Stockport game whereas for the last few years it has been great all season long. As @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler says the pitch still plays well and has been highly ranked in the last 2 season.
The issues this season are down to bad luck of the timing of the weather and how it has coincided with our home matches. If our pitch drainage was worse the Stockport game would've been postponed which in the end might have been better in the long run.

As a side note to this Colchester also off for a waterlogged pitch.
Stadium purpose built , opened 2009 season.
10000 capacity £14 million cost, built on council land with a £10 million loan and £4 million in grants.
Surely they should never have a game called off for water logging.
Nature is an amazing force and man kind can only affect it in a negative way, global warming!
If today was match day, we would have had no problems,
Sparks and Rupp ,there are lots of things they can be blamed for the weather is not one of those things.

Also, Colchester football club owe the shareholders over £30million .
Pretty good for 3rd bottom of the whole football league, in a community stadium that brings in vast amounts from hosting events/concerts.
Forgive the pun , but the grass is not always greener.
