Oduor- subbed in then out 25 mins later. To be fair, it may have been a tactical sub putting Stubbs back in as reinforcement. Either way, still apparently better than Bobby.:(

Purely tactical. Imagine the outcry if that had been Pointon on then off.

The only thing I can think of is that he sees Oduor can cover a couple of positions if needed whereas he doesn't want or doesn't believe that Bobby can.

Interesting observation. I don't count Crawley as the 'miss' resulted in a goal anyway which leaves Cook with an 80% success rate and the Crawley 'miss' didn't cost us points, we failed to win for other reasons.
The other two fails were almost identical. Instaed of his usual blast both were placed low to the gk right and with insufficient power, why, only Cooky knows. Net reusult no points lost at Wrexham and two points dropped at Stockport, maybe he does need a break but I wouldn't and seeing the man management of him by GA at the final whistle tells you what the Manager at least thinks of him and deservedly so after his goal of some skill and angered determination to put the miss right.

While I'm on the view of the more considered Wrexham Boardroom was not so much that we 'mugged' them more that their players believe they only have to turn up to win the League. The blame from these people is directed firmly on the owners over hype, so much so there was little conviction yesterday that they will even get auto spots, "see you in the Play Offs" were two comments and who knows but we will need to improve, a fact everyone at the Club knows.

Even with promotion Wrexham will have the first year of meeting financial rules to deal with and on recent holiday I read two different articles suggesting that unless the owners cobble some sponsorship deals together to boost revenue, they may have to get rid of as many as five of their squad to balance the books. I don't see their fans paying inflated ticket prices to make up the difference, as our fanatastic fans chanted yesterday, "where were you when you were s***e".

    We shall see.

As a spectacle you didn't miss anything, it was a typical average game of league 2 football. Didn't play much different to what we did against the likes of Wimbledon last week, solid at the back, stodgy in the middle and little upfront. What we did do, or Andy Cook did, was take one of the two opportunities we had. As i suspected from previous encounters, Wrexhams style kinda suits us, a lot of long ball which the three centre backs hes gone with are good at dealing with.

I know he doesn’t like losing, who does, but he looked under a considerable amount of stress. The comment about always having it their own way and them not used to having to suffer defeats was for the fans and probably the owners. Would they sack him?

I posted there was a rumour going round Pointon was leaving in the closed season but even if true when your in a situation like we are IMO you give the kid a chance Odour has had plenty of game time and shown to be weak and although you can see a footballer in him he's hardly pulled up any trees, if for no other reason Pointon would have run his backside off in those last 25 minutes or so.

In the post match video I posted Alexander said Cook was annoyed to have missed the penalty he tried to convey to him to keep his concentration and fair do's to Cook that was one class finish.

Pointon for me is a great prospect but a bit erratic which is to be expected

Odour is the better player right now as in more disaplined ... Pointon will have his day

If you compare their performances I don't think there's anything between them. If Oduor had Bobby's intensity he'd been on the right track, but he seems to coast through games rather than getting stuck in. I think we'll see Pointon ahead of him next season if he's still here.

Pointon should have played after two great crosses last week that could have ended up being recorded as goal assists on a better day.

Obviously Alexander has his reasons but I think the lad is wasted on the bench and certainly would have offered more than Odour in the last 25 minutes, but let's hope with three home games we can get a run going again and who knows where it could take us, maybe Wembley twice in a season equaling Parkys feat.
