Drinking at sports events

I used to love it watching Essex at Chelmsford in the 70s. Draught Abbot Ale, in the days when Greene King was a quality independent brewery, not a bloated conglomerate. Gorgeous nutty flavour. Beer of the Gods.

Gigs?
I was at a Madness gig in Leeds the other year and morons were throwing plastic cups of beer around. I nearly came to blows with one immature idiot over it.

You are right there is some fantasy going on here . I worked behind the bar in the Queens on Bridge St whilst serving my apprenticeship for 4 years . There was a Q outside for opening at 1730 in those days . We were rammed solid until Genesis etc came on over the road at St George’s . The top bands were on in those days !

 

Wouldn’t fancy lugging one of them around must be heavy when full

 

Less likely to lob the empty metal flask as it has cost you something and is reusable whereas once the can is empty it is rubbish so is more likely to be thrown

“piss and throw” was rife at Leeds Fest back in the day. Packed crowds and long queues to the bogs……people cba walking

 

Sure you can drink in the stands at rugby (Bulls).

I think I must have been stood near you then, as my wife got soaked by those idiots. On a positive note, she smelt very sexy when we got home.
