If you play 3 at the back the mifddle one needs pace more than hieght. The other 2 provide that. Almost like a sweeper he needs to be very pacey. Schoolboy stuff really that shows how useless GA is

I might be wrong, but didn't get GA say that Gent is fully in-control of transfers?

Indeed. In what alternative football universe is Ash Taylor a better centre back than Matty Platt?

I'd say its the wider ones that need the pace. But you need ot back there, for sure.

Oh we can blame them 2 when they bring him into the club........... hes clueless but ffs hes trying to basically trying to get players who are used to playing football on the ground into the crazy gang ..............now honestly why on earth would you have him anywhere near that team knowing that the majority of that fooking squad aint used to tactics that aint been since the late 80s................. we all knew what kind of manager we needed and what kind of manager we didnt and yet again David Brent has fooked up a simple process yet again

I genuinely feel sorry for Graham Alexander. He joined a club with no direction or vision; he inherited a squad of players assembled by the previous manager under the leadership of Rupp and Sparks and is being expected to work with that squad even though his style of play is quire different to the style of the previous manager. He's been unlucky in losing a couple of key players in Walker and Pattison. He certainly hasn't helped himself with some of his team selection and tactics but in part that has been a consequence of the players at his disposal. He hasn't yet had an opportunity to put his own mark on the squad and it doesn't look like he will do so in the immediate future.

Of course, much of the criticism will be directed towards him and the squad. But the issue is much deeper than that. If Alexander were to leave, it would be back to square 1 and we'd still be without any kind of direction from the top. Whoever is the manager, I can't imagine that there will be any change in direction in having frozen the playing budget for the past 5 years. One of those who could change things and provide a direction for the club has no interest or understanding of the club and his main man, his CEO is there to do his boss' bidding. They seem to have forgotten that this is fundamentally a club that exists to play football. At times it appears that other things are more important. This club is floundering iand will continue to do so without new leadership at the top of the club. Alexander isn't the problem; he is simply a symptom of the deeper problem.

I was very encouraged by his initial interviews and after the first half at Notts County he seemed to have found a winning formula. Since Walker's injury though he's completely lost it. The team on Tuesday was pathetic and yet it remained virtually the same today with a similar result. It's not entirely his fault as the players we've recruited are clearly hopeless but he has no imagination or tactical nous at all, it seems. From a few games ago onwards he's been floundering and sounds completely broken. We have no structure to build on and we need to change 90% of the playing staff. Anything we do in the next week will make no difference at all. I've said before that this season is gone and probably the next one too. The first part is certainly true. I hope some miracle can save next year, but I can't see it.

Need a new owner and CEO. Replacing GA will have no impact, season is over.

We need experienced, qualified leadership that will invest and drive us forward. Under the stewardship of Rupp and Sparks this will never happen. It's a damning indictment that we have been surpassed by Barrow & Crewe.

I think we're behind square one. Square zero. Square one would include a plan and the means to actually build something. We're in a worse position because we're half committed to something that isn't going to work, under incompetent leadership.

The club will try and delay the new ST campaign as long as poss and hope we get to Wembley in the football league trophy to give us something to be positive about?

WE ARE EIGHTEENTH in the league. What an utter embarrassment this club has become under Rupp and Sparks

Maybe not yet. But there's a player with much potential. More than can be said for most. Leaving him on the sidelines won't improve him however!

The manager after today must know we need to strengthen our midfield, in that first half it was non existent and not much better second half.
