I'm not personally saying Wright is a striker, but still think he is Young's replacement until at least the summer, in the eyes of Sparks and GA

Having a striker create his own chances is what we are lacking big time, JY fits this role.. just wish Leslie wasn't such a dick with him (with the backing of Spuds and Ruin) and at least involved him with the first team, then he may want to play for us

 

I mean, you have a point, it's possible but only about 0.0000000000000000000000001% possible. In reality, we're finishing 11th at best.

 

I agree but the point was that the club doesn't exactly do itself any favours by the horrendous and undeniable lack of ambition.

 

Taking what GA has said at face value that Young is injured and by definition unfit for selection. What I don't get is what input or control the club had in how this injury was managed.

I would have thought we would receive updates from the club and any injury would be reported to the parent club who would also decide on what treatment was required and where this was performed, perhaps under supervision of his parent club. Also, if loaned player has sustained an injury surely the terms of the loan arrangement permit the parent club to stop the player from continually playing and potentially making the injury worse ?

 

Hasn’t he gone yet or has the injury flared again?

 

I don't know any more than the next City fan with regards the ins and outs of this particular situation but I don't believe the player is dictating if he's fit enough to play or not, if no club comes in with an acceptable offer and he's still here in February will his injury miraculously heal.
I don't now why he has a grudge against the club or its fans if he has, the problem he had is no longer at the club, it will certainly be interesting to see how this pans out, I believe the club will come in for more and more stick with regards everything football as long as were don't see results and performances on the pitch improving.

We're in for a venomous end to the season I think only results coupled with entertaining performance will stop the inevitable fan backlash.
The club set themselves up with every media interview, only this time getting up off the canvas will require more than a bucket of water.

 

I don't really understand the lack of ambition point though. There's two options - he stays, he goes. Once a decision has been made, the only switch can be 'he goes switches to he stays' if an offer doesn't come in. He can't play and then go, because of the two club rule.

So, once a decision on him leaving has been committed to, it has to be followed right to the bitter end for the price to be maximised. That may mean selling a day or two before perhaps because suddenly an offer of £600k comes in when it was £200k before (all hypothetical). That doesn't mean we sit on our hands to the deadline hoping to squeeze and extra £50k maybe.

If the decision was made to play him (clearly it wasn't) then he should have been in the team.

But, on this particular Jake question, we can't actually, fairly conclude the lack of ambition until we know he's left or staying and if he's left then what happens with the money.

 

Not a grudge he has had his head turned and he wants a move. He probably thinks the club are being unreasonable with their asking price and having a constant niggle is putting pressure on the club

 

I was very open minded about him on his return, and welcomed him back to the fold.
With a new regime I was rather hoping he'd knuckle down and set about our push for play-offs as beginning of January it was still a realistic goal.
After 5mins he limp out of training with a sore foot, alarm bells started to ring.
No press interviews telling us how he's here with a clean slate to help his mother club in their quest.
A couple of weeks passed with this charade, and the interview the other week with GA telling us he'd sat him down and stressed to him that the club wanted him playing. When the interviewer then asked GA if Young wanted to be here, he fair stumbled on his words and went round the houses to try and deflect the question.
Young may have turned up last night with his boots under his arms to fulfil his contractual duties, after all a poorly foot cant last a whole month. However, if I was GA already starting to feel the pressure of a bad run, the last player I'd want in the team is one that wants away and is likely to put in a pathetic shift, I wouldn't have him anywhere near the squad.
I'm firmly of the opinion that this is entirely down to Young, he needs to grow up, the video of him the other week shouting Leeds scum illustrates his immaturity, they may well be, but a professional Footballer doing it. Really
Hopefully he gets his move, wonder what the rest of the squad make of it.

 

The lack of ambition is because here we are, struggling for goals and we're touting around the second highest goalscorer in the division.

Couple that with selling a goalkeeper rated in the top 2 or 3 for pennies and replacing him with someone, who at 32 has only ever been a first choice keeper once at a professional level and that was 5 years ago now.

Then, to add the cherry on the cake (and I might be wrong here but I'll stick my neck out) not a single penny of either sale will be reinvested properly in speculating and bringing quality to the club. For example, when we bought Wyke.

 

Its not down to Young its down to the club they want the cash the end.
If they selected Young say last night and he simply refused then why not say it ??? They could even save on his wages with fines couldnt they ????
They say nothing apart from an injury a couple of weeks ago but since then hes been training hes been turning up for games so why are the club so silent over the matter ???

 

Touting they are doing the opposite they are pricing him out of a move he wants. And if Lewis was one of the top two or three keepers this season the standard must be very low. At 200k we got over the odds

 

How about his replacement? Better than expected was it as we fought off "interest from higher league clubs"?

 

That’s pretty fair. He can’t be being touted if we put a decent price on him, thinking otherwise doesn’t make any sense.
