Beat me to it, I was going to post similar, mainly because I didn't see the crowd announced. I reckon the ground was 1/3 full so I'm going with 7,800

 

Ground was never ever a third full.
Midland Road had 500 in it tops.
Kop had a few thousand.
NWC 400
West Stand 2.5k.

 

That's kind of irrelevant because you can dismiss anything prior to 2000 as ancient history. Between 1968 and 1999 we had 6, which isn't too bad in the grand scheme, apart from the fact that there were also 3 relegations.

The most stunning factor is if we don't go up next season it will be one promotion in a quarter of a century and four relegations. In reality, the worst period of regression came under Captain Admin and his family, not Rupp, who has only taken us down one level against Captain Admin who took us down three.

 

I think his point is quite clear to see.

 

I know the match was dire, but I lost count after doing Midland Road.

 

It was on TV and the weather was crap.

I get that a lot of people on here like to deny it but when the game is on TV people will stay at home and watch instead.

Like I always say in discussions about the 3pm blackout, just be careful what you all wish for.

Statistically that's impossible. The Gaye population of the UK is only around 1.3%

 

It’s highly likely that everyone in the stadium last night could have fit in the Midland Road stand and definitely could have all fit in the Kop so the actual attendance was somewhere between 4500 and 7500.
Maybe the club can be transparent and tell us. I know they have the exact number because of the safety certificate I read the other day which requires them to know exactly how many fans are inside the stadium.

They could have all fit into the Shay, that's up for sale, perhaps we should buy it and re-locate !! Great little ground that we could get rocking again.

 

Pardon the expression but it was the perfect storm last night. The actual wind strength and rain was way less than what was forecast. Couple that with ifollow and the current state of the club and team form it’s no surprise it was a low turnout. However, it was an alarming turnout.

ifollow subscribers from last night would give a much better measure of fans apathy but unfortunately far too many City fans don’t pay and use dodgy sticks. That results in lost income and makes subscriber numbers meaningless. We need something to happen and finding a winning team would be a start.
