Some big contradictions today ....

“Again, we tried to support that as far as we could. When Graham came in, the recruitment process was never about finding a manager who could play 3-4-3 or 3-5-2.

“But it was very clear to Graham, who had not traditionally played those formations, that it’s the best strength of this squad.


He then goes on to say about Alexander and Milton Keynes...

“I was quite surprised when Graham went to MK Dons because how they want to play doesn’t necessarily suit his way.

“But he became their manager, and won manager of the month in August, so it was a heck of a start.

“I thought it was a good appointment for MK Dons but they had to commit to a different way, different recruitment and probably would have had to sit in League Two for a couple of seasons while they went through the windows and changed the squ
ad.


So by that thinking because the squad here doesn't fit Alexander's methods and usual set ups, shouldn't we be planning for a couple of seasons in league two aswell then

 

If Sparks thinks it will take a few years to reshape a squad set up for 5-3-2 to become a suitable one for traditional GA methods, he better get ready to get on the phone to Rupp, asking for a hefty directors loan top up to prop up the business, as fans will be walking away in their droves in a few months and ST sales will take a hammering.

As things stand I think we’re on for 10k tops, assuming a price freeze. Fans are sick of incompetence, failure, excuses and general mediocrity.

I like GA but we need results now. Sparks should have recruited a manager suited to 5-3-2 if we don't have years to rebuild again and he thinks thats what GA needs to do?

how much longer does he and Rupp think fans will accept this dross for?

 

I’d love to hear what remit Rupp has given Sparks, other than sustainability. Does he even have any ambition for the club to get out of this league? He was in agreement to make bold statements about making the prem in 5 years, but he’s said nothing of note since. All the questions to Sparks about Rupp centre around whether he talks to Rupp, in which we get the stock answer of “yes he’s in regular contact”. Parker needs to get down to the detail of those conversations.

1) Are you under pressure from Rupp?
2) Have you been given KPI’s and are you achieving them.
3) You’ve sanctioned these transfers and we’ve gone backwards. What will you do differently to achieve the goal of promotion?
4) Are you doing anything differently other than giving manager after manager carte blanch to spend the budget in a non structured way?

Better still, why doesn’t Parker try and get a Q&A with Rupp and cut out the middle man.

 

Sparks has proved time & time again how much of an idiot he is. Constantly trips himself up. He has totally winged it since taking up his first role with us (wasn't he the social media man or something??)

I long for the day that he clears off for good and we actually get a proper set-up in place (preferably one person for the marketing side, and another for the footballing side)

 

So all these 3 instalments have proved is that Parker has achieved Gold status in the Ryan Sparks appreciation society.

 

Other than for self appreciation and ticking a 'fan engagement' box, the whole interview was an empty exercise and poor journalism. Tbf to Parker, he's not going to rock the boat and piss on his chips with the club.

 

Parker makes David Markham look like Bob Woodward (google him kid's).

Yes Ryan, no promotion is a failure. We don't settle for mediocrity remember?

 

Exactly. Wasn't his infamous speech regarding mediocrity way back in 2021 when he sacked Trueman & Sellars after a handful of games?? Therefore if we don't get promotion this season, we will have been in this dreadful khazi league for at least 4 SEASONS since he said that

The frustrating thing is that in Rupp’s eyes (through a pair of business eyes, not those of a football man), the club has generally been doing ok. We had great ST uptake after hitting playoffs and the club continually remind us how good we do commercially. As long as Rupp doesn’t have to put more money in what does he care? So there is no pressure on Sparks. He can point to the sale of Lewis and forthcoming sale of Young and say Genty is paying for himself (Which is understandable).

So we just keep going in circles. Rupp happy business isnt losing money, results dont improve, stuck in L2, sack manager, start over and rebuild……[repeat]

was reading a comment today from a Norwich fan on a groundhopping page on FB, on which VP was mentioned, and he said he can’t understand why City continue to struggle in L2. How many times have we heard similar? Always get asked same question myself when discussing footy with people outside of City.

We are just a total embarrassment. Sick of it.
