Exactly why i question why the independent supporters board want yet another fans forum. This ain't the Rahic era where questions definitely needed to be answered for the sake of the clubs future. With more info now given by the club regarding accounts and the like most of that is now in the open.

What a load of bloody pointless nonsense. As usual sparks only surfaces to feed sound bites to his publicity puppet Parker. This is really how poor relations are between the club and the fans. The only communications we receive are through a naff journalist, and published in a rag that is virtually unreadable online unless you pay for the services. Pathetic

 

I've seen someone mention that. Personally for me that's two too many. Probably aimed at different sort of folk to me.

Any tricky ones that get through are batted away with ease as “confidentiality” issues or “we”ll take it on board and let you know”

After Sparks finished his "I care" puke there is little to take from the article. Hope he's asked what the plans are for the summer traing camp holiday for fans.

 

Seems very convenient timing that just as the club are receiving criticism for not planning another supporters forum we end up with a completely scripted interview with Sparks.

 

totally agree. Don’t think I’ve ever been to one. I went to the 25 yr meeting only to be told off for sharing online what was said at it

 

Things that could be asked;

• What is the recruitment strategy? We swing from signing youngsters, to has beens then inbetween offering 3 year deals like confetti.
• Why was a player (JY) signed and binned off by a manager three months into a four year deal?
• Why did we recruit (blatantly poorly) for a certain formation and then scrap it all three weeks into the season and end up with a hugely bloated squad?
• Why do we have players/positions the fans can see are clearly weak and have been for years (eg LB/LWB) or lack proper cover (CM) and yet it is never addressed?
• What is the actual goal of the club beyond getting out of L2? At the moment we're we to be promoted there is seemingly nothing in place to maintain us as L1 club.
• We don't need a forensic breakdown of the accounts, but where is the money going? Turnover up significantly over the last few years but playing budget remains the same (confirmed in media interviews - eg Athletic) which amounts to a real terms cut in budget. Is this realistic for a club that wants to get promoted?

That's in two minutes. I'm sure there's many more probing questions that could be asked. Let's see what the remainder of the series produces.

 

That's easy. Sparks is/ was in awe of Hughes and daren't say no.

 

I must have been to dozens of fans forum over the years and it’s always the same you go in and listen to the buzz in the hall and grumbles and when the floor is open people don’t have the nerve to say in public what they say in private.

 

One point from the interview is sparks says the injuries to walker and pattison impacted the plans somewhat in the way of squad reduction.

I can only deduce from that, plans were likely in place to move on either chapman or pointon, given they fit the same roles and odour is sat on a three year contract

 

The piece in the T&A was the first part of a bigger interview and it covered the current major talking points Young which he gave a full answer as he did including being asked if Wright was his signing. There is absolutely nothing in there to be critical about. But that doesn’t stop it

 

It didn't tell us anything we didn't know. Just waffle.

 

It told us exactly what we need to know about the Wright and Young situations.

 

It told us what they wanted to tell us. That's what PR is. There's nothing new in there. Nothing of any significance. Let's see what the other gripping installments bring.

 

It is not just the plan of promotion; I want to know the details of how we get there. What are we doing? What are our timescales? What are the risks to the plan? How are we going to mitigate risks to any part of our plan.

 

An ounce of intelligence would have told you exactly that was already.
