His biggest attributes were his energy and pace, which never seemed to be at the same level after he had Covid.

He's a bench warmer at Harrogate. Nice lad but never good enough in one position which relegates you to the dreaded utility role.

In what way is the club "completely f*cked" as you put it?

Give us your insight and particularly in terms of finance, considering how important FFP will be.

It's a fact we got in the L2 play-offs for the first time in a while and lost. That doesn't indicate a club that is "completely f*cked" as you so wonderfully put it.

Is that the ride where we started a L1 club with not much money to been a L1 club that was bankrupt?

I think me and you agree on a lot, but I'll be honest the thought of another Richmond frightens me to death. He'd be doing what Forest have done and giving lip service to the financial rules.

The underlying issue here is simple. The squad we had last year was good enough to go up. Hughes deployed a safety first tactic which ultimately backfired. The belief was with a few more signings, we'd be strong enough to go up. But for whatever reason, halfway through pre season, he decided to rip up the format an start from scratch. Then realised the experiment was going wrong, went back to basics, but by that point, the squad was so unsettled from the constant chopping an changing an the onus to make up for lost points from previous games, that ultimately, Hughes got the chop.

Yeah I'd be up for that crazy ride with that mad bastard again. Better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all or summat like that lol.

The Richmond era gave me the vast majority of the truly enjoyable time being a city fan. Even the couple of good years under Parky pale into comparison. That period of 95/96 to 99/00 was the best time to follow city, hands down.

Not much between being a skint L1 club to a nearly bankrupt one. Along the way, we had a Wembley promotion to the championship, a properly balls out scrap to stay there, Waddle, the Scandinavian invasion, Edinho, the cup win at Everton, an automatic promotion to the premier league playing the best football this club ever has or will play, smashing teams regularly, winning in the premier league against Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea.

And the trade-off was going back to being a skint League 1 club a fraction off where we started? It’s a no brainier. And we’ve had more than enough time to recover.

I’d take it again in a heartbeat.

If you tried explaining to the young generation of city fan that a bloke came swashbuckling into the confines of Valley Parade and told us he'd take us to the promised in land in 5 years they'd think you were off your tits. A crazier but charismatic guy, the likes of which you'll never see in Bradford again. It didn't last as long as we all hoped but man it was good to dream the dream, even if was just for a year. Can't really count the second year as the raving lunatic had gone bat shit crazy by them but hey, halcyon days.

I’ve said before that to get a wave from Richmond as he drove past in his big green Bentley was almost a regal moment.
    Lauding it over his subjects.

I half agree. For ages around 2003 I defended Richmond, but we've suffered far too much since.

Had Richmond not come in we would probably have still ended up in league 1 or more likely league 2 but without the huge fall from grace cos we'd never get that high up to fall that far. A bit like Rochdale, just bumming round the lower with no.purpose other than to make up the numbers. I know that appeals to some but I'm a shit or bust person.

I think this Young talk needs to be put to bed. If the player doesnt see a future here, feck him

If that isnt the case however, then City see an opportunity to cash in on a player, an should they recieve an acceptable offer, they'l take it.

Obviously, the moment he gets put in a matchday squad, any transfer talk this window goes away, as he'l of then played for two clubs (stupid rule but its the FA so what can you do)

If an acceptable bid doesn't come in then he'l stay an play the rest of the season with us. Dont see the point in any further speculation the matter, besides genuine transfer talk regarding the player. The situation seems pretty apparent to me

200k for Young, with 18 months + a year exention, 16 goals in half a season, an hes got his entire career ahead of him

Maybe Sparks woke up one morning an thought "We just pulled Carlisle's pants down by selling them Lewis for a similar fee, so why don't I go ahead an allow them to return the favour by selling the league's second highest scorer for peanuts?"

They'd probably think you were talking about Edin.
