I would say that Wigan have been and currently are a far more successful club than City. The size is immaterial in terms of achievement.

Look at Bournemouth and Luton, despite their ‘size’, they are achieving success (albeit difficult given the level of the opposition). We get stuffed by Crawley!

The size of the stadium and the level of support, at City suggests a ‘Middle’ sized club that is serially underachieving.

Can't disagree with that. But in league 2 the perception is we are a big club based on the size of our ground and crowd sizes. I would kinda agree with your sentiment though, it doesn't feel like we are a big club in this division, our away followings are generally poor to other clubs our 'size' and our home games are usually played in front of an apathetic crowd. Our history determines we are at best a journeyman league 1 team.

    How recent ?????
And even for how cheap it is still money to view dross :(

I mean in all honesty take good Friday taking 3k to a game now how many clubs at this level in our posistion would take them numbers ?????
    Not bleeding one
Btw i remember gates of being around the 5k mark during the early 90s which still dwarfed what Wigan got ............. you look at the so called bigger clubs gates now around the 10k mark and dropping.

And if we have spent the majority of years around this level should it mean we shouldnt demand better ?????
If the likes of Wrexham,Stockport and Notts C think they deserve a lot more then why the hell shouldnt we ..............

Lots of websites like this that take lots of things into consideration including your fan base you bang on about
Hope this settles why the likes of Bolton, Wigan and Derby, among others are bigger than us

Unless we change our structure and plans we will continue this decline, and the goodwill of fans with it. We need to drop all the adjectives about our club, we are over 5 years sitting mid table apart from last season when we managed to get to the playoffs which we blew away. We have a stagnant club who after trying different managers are still delivering poor football. You cannot help but come to the conclusion that our structure and plans are well off. We are a Business with a football club attached. Until we start to give our football club the funds, dedication and structural planning required this is where we will stay if we are lucky as we in danger of relegation maybe not this year but standing still without investment is a recipe for disaster.

    Not everybody believes such comments.

Ok you said it now put flesh on the bones by explaining HOW you justify the comments otherwise it’s meaningless if you want to persuade anyone prepared to listen?

To me they are still a non league cup after being ELECTED to the EFL in 78. Not on playing merit!

I suppose Dave Whelan , born in Bradford , could be said to have spent an absolute fortune, before he sold up. A Bradford born football club owner …who knew ?

Would we get anywhere near this level of support if season tickets were set at the average price at this level?

I think the answer lies in your last sentence

No but i still think we would still outsell everyone at this level but thats pointless if the whole structure of the club is a fooking mess ............. we put it up to £300 and the club looks to be moving in the right way then you may be actually shocked at our levels but whose gonna pay that when there is simply no direction to where we are going

The size of a club is measured by its drive and ambition and as such we are a small club. Size of the Ground and City population are immaterial without ambition at the top and we have very little if any truth be told. A CEO with no ability And an owner with no interest sums us up

Size of club is completely subjective. You only need to look at the RFLs recent 'calculation' of where clubs are ranked to see that.

I am starting to recover from yesterday's disappointment. I do not know enough about the running of the club to make a judgement on its effectiveness but do appreciate the prices and the attempts to keep fans involved. On the face of it the choices of the last three managers were sound and rationally should have had success.

Whatever, we lost yesterday. However I bad I felt the players must have been devastated. From my seat they looked to have put in so much in that first 40 minutes of the second half and much of it was pretty good. Maybe they had to take a breather at that point, particularly our full backs who seem to being doing two jobs.

A little sympathy today would not go amiss.

But you fail to acknowledge that yesterdays performance was on the back of 3 no shows.......

Some certainly looked knackered but why is GA obsessed with bringing on a 38 year old has been? I sit in Midland Road and think I have as much chance of scoring as him. GA has shut out 2 skilful and mobile players, both of whom are able to deputise for Walker and both were on the bench yesterday. Either one would surely have been a better choice. At Crewe, we created 1 chance for the Cook/Oliver partnership and that was from Bobby.

I would if we had continued to put the pressure at 2-1 up but that after the og was pathetic and its the sort of weak mentality that will lead to yet another year at this level.
