Decent point in the end vs the league leaders.

Going into tonight they were the top scorers - Notts County are now level with them - and (random stat) that’s the first time Stockport haven’t scored away from home in the league all season.

We restricted them to not too much and perhaps might have sneaked it through Cook.

As a couple of others have said, the ‘dropped points’ were more vs Morecambe.

 

The weather was a great leveller. I thought we played well and give it their all. The Championship players they have were not able to exert their expertise. Some messy and scrappy play, but that is what happens when the pitch is a bit of a bog. Well done to the groundskeeper for getting this match on.

 

The result was a fair outcome of the game in my view. We huffed and puffed but lacked quality. They seemed to have a bit more quality but we always seemed to get a block or foot in.

It was a shame we went off the boil in the last 15 minutes. Alexander could have made some changes to freshen things up but tonight was the first time he seemed a bit risk averse which was a shame.

Got to take into account the opposition are the best in the league

 

Poor quality fare when we're not winning - but can't complain about the actual results.

As long as the numpties who think they're paying to watch Brazil don't get on GA's case, results are pretty decent

 

Wasn't a game to throw caution to the wind I think GA got it spot on with the players available and don't think we needed to make any more substitutions.

A good battling point against the best team in the league keeps us in touch with the playoff pack.

 

They didn't look like the best in the league and if our passing had been less rushed and aimless we could have put them under more pressure. Their keeper didn't really make many saves, did he?

 

You can see why their top of the league and score plenty of goals, to be honest I thought the conditions suited us better they tried to get I to down and play football where at times we were happy to play this long ball when Cook was getting little change from their defenders.
All in all not too unhappy with a point but now we need to get back to winning ways at Crewe.

Why do we trott out this "best team in the league" phrase? They get nothing for being top of the league now. We should be playing each game on its merits and not be in fear of anyone or setting lower expectations just because a team is above us.

I do think the outcome was fair based on the play but we don't need to be over compensating for another team just because they're above us. Every game starts 0-0 and we should play the game as it happens not based on the form book.

 

Meh, it was a Hollywood save! Nice height. Not far from him. Cook needed to shoot when he did otherwise he'd have been closed down but that meant it was a nice height for the keeper. Listening to Raynor and Kiwomya wax lyrical about the save for minutes on end afterwards was overplaying it.

 

Of course but you have to look at their record and give them credit. We want to win every game but sometimes against the better teams a point has to suffice. I bet their fans are saying they should have taken the points
