Only difference is that Bradford tunnels are full of smackheads.

Considering the clashes between your lads and ours in the old days its good to see the older lot still in touch and meeting up regular, great memories of my trips to VP, got locked up the night we dared to venture into the Bradford End , 1980 I think ……scary

You weren't in the Bradford End long before being politely asked to leave.

About 90 seconds if I remember correctly, I then got nicked after being marched around the pitch arguing with a fan on the midland road side, you in the Bradford End that night JM ?

Always enjoy my visits to VP, first visit about 1970.Love the walk down Manningham Lane although it’s not as eventful as it used to be, thought it was a decent game considering the conditions. Fantastic support from your lot and it begs the question if you were top of the league how high your attendances would get to. Yep always one if not the most looked forward to away days.

They came along the top flat walkway at the back of the Bradford End from the Midland road side / corner.

“The County” , “The County” . It lasted 10 seconds if that. Lots of dust and Olympic speed backward running whence they came from. Was it a Friday night….memory fades ?

It was Wednesday August 30 1980, I can assure you we entered the corner opposite the midland road side, where the police building was…10 seconds ? a little longer although not much longer we knew we were going to get 2nd prize.

Thanks yes I remember it being an evening, we always seemed to be at your place on a night. We always went on “ service” trains as they were called in those days. Yes your lot came in from the corner as in the pic

Spent the night in Bradford nick, 3 County and 5 City fans, when we all got to court we were all fined £70 apart from one City fan who got sent down, my 3 lads who travel all over with me always raise their eyebrows and shake their heads when us old uns reminisce about our shenanigans at Donny, Barnsley and Udders, Bradford City were always the top dogs and Edgeley was always a war zone when you came to town, if we behaved like that today we would get 5 years , btw staying on your open kop was mega dangerous dodging bricks and concrete missiles, how we survived those days is a miracle.

One or two of our repeat offenders were given a few weeks in Armley Jail. I won’t mention names that wouldn’t be fair .
Hopefully we won’t see that madness again. That’s what it was , madness. You are right you probably entered from the right two turnstiles just to the left of the nearest floodlight to the camera, but after meeting up inside ( I assume) the two tribes met by the arrow head at the back. I’m more than certain .

    Happy but mad days.
Oh how the yoof would be Olympic sprinters in those days.
It seems madness looking back but, it was all part and parcel then.
Stockport away always seemed to be a Friday night game.
If you got to the ground unscathed that was a result.
