Match of the day and Emlyn Hughes international soccer on the Spectrum were my first football games.

I think followed by kick off and then sensible soccer on the Amiga. Happy days!

Just making a simple point that behavior was a lot worse then, but I would hate it to deteriorate now to the point that it is unsafe again.

I remember back in 70s drink driving was fairly accepted too but most people wouldn’t suggest it’s ok these days

Exactly. Some people on here saying pyros are tame compared to being slashed with razor blades in the 70’s is the same as people saying that holding a mobile phone while driving is trivial compared to driving after 10 pints.
Times change and so do rules.
Once we get rid of the pyros can we also then campaign to stop all the persistent standing at away games.

This is one concept of away followings I’ve never understood. Why the need to stand when there’s a perfectly adequate seat to sit in? It’s almost as if it’s a “cool” thing to do amongst away football fans but why? It just seems odd to me.

Maybe Crawley have the answer, at least for home games.

Was the Sensible Soccer made by the team that made Cannon Fodder? I was hooked on that until I completed both versions (?)

Competition Pro or similar was my go to. I’m sure it was called that?

Given Crawley won't sell out their allocation at away games it doesn't look like there is anything to stop them paying on the day as it only mentions being "given or bought a ticket by someone else" so it would only work for us on games that sell out.

They can only apply it to their home games, but they are at least making an effort

Despite the serious lack of judgement in creating smoke in support of a club who had the trauma we did I also I find all this pyro party stuff really cringe worthy - 8 14 year olds trying to replicate scenes from Ali Sami Yen is so cheesy and all in the pursuit of of virtual likes and tik tok views.

It’s a sad indictment on social culture that surrounded by hundreds of adults nobody dare challenge this behaviour when it happens.

dear pyro wannabes let one off near me and you will have smoke coming out if your back side whilst I drag you to bridewell Grow Up

No incidents, and atmosphere was extremely flat I thought. Not surprised as the football was dire and so was the weather. Shit days experience overall really

I just hope Derby and Colchester are worth the drive

Does that stop these people letting smoke bombs off for a laugh, but I do get your point.

Coloured smoke not flares. Which doesn't make it right though still.

Very easy to get hold of, use them a lot. There's a great shop (or there was) at top of Bradford near the kirkgate where you can get them in every colour which is handy.
