Kemp was loaned out to Hartlepool in the January, GA got the MK job in the May.

Yes , i meant Kemp. Wont happen. Definately think Mcdonalds days are numbered, he is far to slow and makes Smallwood look like Usain Bolt, when really he has the pace of a door bolt.

 

Wouldn't mind Kev and Derbyshire being part of a coaching set up - but we don't really do continuity or forward-planning, so more likely they go somewhere else and have great careers.

I'd guess he brought Derbyshire in as cheap back up to Cook. Kevin McDonald probably the experienced head to replace Smallwood during his awful spells.

Derbyshire in particular was an atrocious signing, unless he's been coaching our forwards... but then... what forwards?

 

We. Will have watched both East and Young out on loan and GA will have talked to Gent about them and no doubt will talk to the players before deadline day. Both are a no brainer to bring back with Youngs goals and East virtually another Gilly like player. With those back and maybe another CB in on loan then most of the other loans can go back

Young will be brought back in January. Its a no brainer. We play 2 up top, we need a total of 4 forwards. If Smith gets injured or is off form, we can swap Young in. If it doesnt work out, just sell him in the summer.

 

If it doesn't work out, he's not even gonna be worth £250,000.

Nobody is paying top dollar for a lad who did well on loan at a League Two side then immediately reverted back to struggling at a different League Two side.

Everyone was desperate for Eoin Doyle to return, only for him to look utterly awful once again.

Couple of weeks later and Swindon Town pay us a whopping (alleged) £90,000 for him.

Granted his deal was up in the Summer, but 'The Country's Best Goalscorer' didn't seem to attract anyone else...

All sound pretty prophetic to anyone else?

 

Had Doyle not played for us though, meaning he could not play for anyone else that season and was out of contract come the summer. Young has not kicked a ball for us ,thus could join AN other.

 

Strange one in the interviews I heard him he comes across as an intelligent lad unfortunately if he believes he won't be recalled by the club that has his registration he's not as intelligent as I thought.
He could have 20 goals by the time we can recall him so I'd suggest it's in Swindon hands make an offer and we'll see what you think a 22 year old striker with potentially 30+ this season is worth.

 

Derbyshire may have working with the forwards, in particular Smith, we don't know. It's the same with Young and his agent, they know that the only way he stays at Swindon is if they come with money they haven't got. Other clubs may have already been sounding us out to see how much we would be prepared to accept for him. Things will be happening behind the scenes that we don't know about. All we can do is speculate.

 

Plenty of time left on his contract plus he is a lot younger than Eoin Doyle was when we recalled him but knowing City we will probably greatly under value him when quoting a club a fee.

 

Doyle had played for us at the start of that season, so he could only play for us or Swindon.
Young situation is very different -
We can sell him to any other club
2.5 years left on contract

You do realise he's not going to say to the local paper "I want to go back to Bradford and don't want to be here". Swindon don't have anywhere near the money that he's probably worth and I'm sure he'll come back here and start scoring for us. If he sulks in any way or doesn't put the effort in, it'll have proved that Hughes was right about his attitude and I think he's more than intelligent enough not to want it to look like that.
