You beat me too it, I don't have a clue what sort of salary would be needed to bring a DOF in but if it was within the budget or we have to generate extra revenue it has to be seriously looked into, as you put it so well above.

He’s had plenty of time to do it but won’t. See, when your owner doesn’t care you can basically do what you want. However, you hire someone that knows a thing or two then they can report back to the owner.

I think he could have maybe asked Rhodes to oversee the recruitment of a CEO or DoF rather than grooming Sparks into the role?

Sparks has done well commercially so can see why they have not wanted to completely discard, but in order for a DoF to be appointed now, it would take Ryan to go to Rupp and request it? But that is basically an admission of incompetence, so it won’t happen?

That's what i believe too. And if the owner is motivated to sell, bidders will be sought proactively.

 

Difficult to gauge isn't it? Rumour has it that he wants 10m, which I find ridiculous. If we were worth 6m when he bought us 7 years ago, on the verge of the championship, our value should be about half that now. But when you throw in the fact that there's more money in the game and the earning potential of the club, then there's a bump. My personal view is that bidders would basically give Rupp his 6m back. And with pressure from the fans, he might (should) be inclined to cash in his chips and walk away, thanking his lucky stars to have not lost big time by getting involved in something he's completely ill suited to.
