Stubbs had looked good alongside a couple of partners in Platt and Critchlow. It's no coincidence he now looks poor when playing alongside one of the worst professional footballers I have ever seen.

I don't even need you to believe me. Taylor is now dropped, that's for definite and you watch the improvement both defensively and in Stubbs himself.

You’re right, three different ways of playing is far from ideal. That said, players of quality are able to adapt and it’s not wildly different. To that point makes Halliday form so far more impressive.

Walkers finish today was quality TBF. Without Pattison, Alexander has to find a way of making him as effect as possible.

Biggest issue is how bad at the back we are at the moment, ironically that been with our player of the season so far. Stubbs looks all over the place and the lack of the right partner alongside him is majorly impacting us. I don’t know the solution, but surely Tomkinson has to be considered or what the hell is he doing he otherwise??!!

We looked better because Notts County put their feet up.

We can't say we look better until we play like that in a 0-0 scenario.

A good few opinions on here about us getting humiliated on tv etc...I actually don't think we will, ye granted we more than likely won't win, but this is exactly the type of game that GA requires right now, against a team at their place who's fans will demand to be on the front foot. Injuries this season have not been in huge numbers but they all seem to be in areas of our squad that are short on quality/numbers, some of these injuries have been a roll on from last season and despite these we still for some unexplainable reason didn't blast a good portion of our budget on pumping these areas with real quality, anyhow that's a whole separate argument.
Despite our awful current predicament I still believe we have quality within our squad to give anyone in this league a game on our day, hopefully tomorrow is one them days fingers crossed, but if it turns out not to be I'm determined to refrain myself from going overboard tomorrow evening on here with an alcohol fuelled of toys being thrown absolutely everywhere and stay chilled in hope there's a bigger better picture.
Not sure this has aged well?
I'd say my opinion yesterday regarding todays game was spot on, I didn't expect us to win, said we had good players within our squad to match anyone in L2 on our day which was proved in the 2nd half. Yes without doubt it's another humiliating/frustrating result for sure but I'm sticking to my words from yesterday and not going to lose my sh1t over this. Any manager taking over us right now regardless of who they were are going to need time to assess our mess and to try different things in attempt to make us better.

But these aren't players of quality, arguably just average league 2 footballers, each of who can play well in a certain way. Where I agree with your sentiment is that the only.rhing we really did different second half was.push up on them and they didn't look half as good. Admittedly they had taken their foot completely off the gas but it showed a stark reminder that if you press average players as a unit they generally will make mistakes.
I think Alexander will get a better tune out of them as he assesses their strengths and weaknesses and how they fit into his way of thinking.

Re-reading you still think we have enough quality in this squad to give anyone a game in their day??? As long as you mean it will be the oppositions day every time we rock up?

You're right about risk averse but swapping Platt for Taylor or Kelly (neither of whom are as good as him) was a really bad move.

We've done the opposite of "if it's not broken don't fix it" and break the thing that was working OK without fixing the problem of a lack of goals at the top of the pitch thereby making both ends worse and leaving us where we are.

    Shambles.

Ok folks, going to give you a few neutral comments on todays game, so feel free to tell me to "go forth and multiply", I wont take offence, I know you will all be feeling like shit this evening (believe me being a Carlisle fan, I know that feeling very well indeed).
Missed the first 20/25 minutes so I can't really comment about that time, however the rest of the half was the stuff of nightmares, it actually reminded me of a training game attack v defense, with the city players disguised as mannequins (they were so rooted to the spot). To be honest the two centre backs seemed to be really poor, especially Stubbs, I'm sure I can run quicker and I'm the wrong side of 60.
Second half was much better, Halliday was causing all sorts of problems down the right, Gilliead I thought was industrious and always was looking for that opportunity to open Notts up, but City man of the match for me was Walker, with 3/4 decent passes and a determination to make things happen, and whey hey you won the second half 2-0.
However I still can't see City's fans obsession with Cook, he seems, and looks like exactly what he is, a 4th tier plodder!!! Maybe he just has bad games every time I see him play.
Anyway, I'm going to stick my neck out and say I think you'll be OK and you wont get dragged into a relegation fight, however any more performances like the last 15 minutes of the first half then I'll reserve the right to change my mind.
    Good luck folks!!

Dear oh dear. Mods, can we put a sign up saying only City fans can comment on our games please? All this having other teams fans coming on and contributing is an affront to common decency. Terrible behavior isn’t it @Interested Bystander@Interested Bystander ? ;)
But seriously, why is @Bluebry@Bluebry not allowed to comment on a game? I think you’re overreacting.

What’s the lowest we’ve ever been in L2? We’re 19th now, it must be a record?

Not to worry he's got every right to 'have a pop' I'm sure he's feeling pretty pissed off, just though that having a different opinion might shine a bit of sunshine on your day.....not a lot mind you!!!
