Watching Longstaff score for Newcastle, reminded me he had a brother. He’s currently without a club which suprised me, as he was a decent player. Interesting no one has picked him up. Possibly long term injured? Was on loan at Colchester last season.

 

Did his cruciate last season. Being helped with his rehab by Newcastle.

 

Even after being released in June?

 

He looked a decent prospect whilst at Mansfield, I think he scored at Valley Parade when they came down last season.

Yes. It was mentioned in an article that I read.

 

He recently did an interview with the Colchester local paper, he had his bad injury playing on loan for them last Boxing Day. Said himself he has been recovering at Newcastle still even without a contract. Says he should be good to ho in January. Be a risk to sign a player who hasn't kicked a ball for so long, but someone in L2 will snap him up.

Josh Morris usually follows him around, although imo a position we don't need to add too

 

With the number of players we have and three injured players on the way back I very much doubt it

 

Depends what tactics we use. Slim pickings out there anyway, but as said other places, Josh Morris is Graham Alexander's man at all his clubs. Seems to be playing either left CM in a 3 man midfield or LM in a 442 over the last few years.

Probably need another CM if we are playing 3 CMs as we only have Smallwood, McDonald and Gilly as natural ones at the min. Suppose Osadebe could fill in there, Pattison too although he seems more of a 10, and his injury history has struck again. Might want one more in, rather than plugging Oyegoke in again.

 

Mansfield rejected him I believe?

 

Although Morris played under Alexander for 4 clubs, I doubt he will be signing him again.

Alexander had him on trial in the summer at MK Dons but didn't sign him

 

Young and East should be back in Jan. East should never have been let go out

 

Can’t agree Trevor. He needed game time, a loan was the only way when MH was in charge. GA can still have a look at him during the next 8-10 weeks, likewise Young.

 

Think East has benefited from his loan more than staying here as a 4th choice CM. Playing weekly for the first time in his career was needed. He's 25 and has never featured frequently in a team, he needed this loan for the sake of his career.

I can’t remember Morris for us at all. Can’t have made much of an impression.
