Line up a job, basically agree to it, remember you actually have a family and a house, and realize you can't take the job.

I'm gonna start doing this.

I'm gonna apply for jobs in Inverness, get there, interview really well (lol), and when I get the job offer say "Oh, I'm sorry, I just realized I live in Eccleshill. That's miles away. What were you guys thinking?"

 

RS could ask all the 'losers' to re-apply...!!

 

Absolutely, and that's what is so disappointing. Long before Hughes got the sack I'd identified Bradford City as the perfect job for the Cowleys to revive and rebuild their careers. To know they were within hours of taking it and then backed out is so frustrating.
If they go back to Lincoln then forget about "family reasons". I wish I had been Danny's agent; I'd have told him "take the job at Valley Parade".

Find it hard to believe that he got to the stage of agreeing to manage the club only to pull the plug because of family. Surely at some point before finalising a deal he realised Bradford wasn't a suburb of Essex?

There isn't a person on the planet stupid enough to apply for a job in Bradford, when you live in Lincoln, then realize at the last minute that there are logistics and you can't manage a club via Teams.

Nobody is as stupid as Danny Cowley is pretending to be.

 

Jon, it says family reasons but it could easily be he came for interview and didn't like what he heard and was offered job. Family reasons easy way out of it.

Not really buying that Park. Her school wasn't an issue in Lincoln or Portsmouth.
He knew where Bradford was when he applied. He also knew where his Daughter's school was.

 

Karl Robinson instantly ruled himself out, despite being out of work and McDonald has literally stepped down from caretaker role and I bet Sparks would happily give him the gig full time. Let’s be honest it’s now been over 4 weeks. We’re now the club who’s gone longest without making an appointment. Not our fault the Cowleys have done a 180 but it doesn’t reflect well regardless, even you should admit that for once.

 

What a complete mess. Clearly Cowley was the standout name on the lists banded about, yet even he's seen the pitfalls of becoming manager here, and a third of the season in and were back to square 1. This season has been a total clustef%(£ from the start and I can't see it getting any better. The recruitment has been less than average, only Pattison has added anything to the squad, and all we needed was 3/4 players of real quality to add to what we already had. Hughes wasn't the right man, yet we clearly had no contingency in place. RS is looking more out of his depth as each day passes. May as well leave Trueman in charge until someone we actually want becomes available. No point giving a long contract to someone we arent actually arsed about...
