I didn’t really notice while the game was in play but I noted that he sent them all back out early after half time.
I did see a hurtful reaction from several players in the 2nd half in response to the chant of ‘we’ve had a shot’
It seemed to gee them up and then we equalised.
Cook should have scored a minute later but fluffed his lines trying to round the keeper and then was unlucky to see shot against the bar.
After that it was back to the usual tripe and inevitably we conceded late.

Got home about an hour ago. Everything about today was truly awful, the drive, the weather, the football. Sparks and Gent are the issue, first & foremost. Between them they have signed some god awful players. Right up there with one of the worst weeks I’ve had following City. Utter garbage

Trust me my friend, if it’s any consolation , I have seen far and away worse than this.
Not currently nice I know but we will recover. Just thank the lucky stars we don’t have money issues to go with it. That comes first.

Playoffs were never our intention and we scraped into them and lost. Didn’t even get to final

So yes it was was shocking
The football then was poor along with the signings and continued into Hughes second season

 

Did you read my post? We did gradually decline in play which brought about the Sutton goal.

I wouldn't even contemplate it today, absolutely no chance.

Not surprised he is sick of it. Our top scorer for three past 3 seasons and all he gets is abuse from some quarters.

 

Although we were poor yesterday, football is a game of fine margins like in most sports. If Cooks shot had been a couple of inch lower or he hadn't blown the one on one with the keeper we'd be more than likely be talking about a victory, Relate that to the Wimbledon game where we rode our luck or the Swindon game where Austin misses a sitter at 0-0. Our problems run deeper than that though, i don't blame MacDonald for our current position or generally our playing squad. I blame our current predicament on the fact that throughout these years of eternal struggle we have no long term plan or vision. Just blundering through from season to season in the hope we might get lucky and hit a home run. Hughes might well have done if he hadn't lost his bottle.
My worry is because of this we are potentially further back now due to a terrible transfer policy. Long term deals for average players and others brought in to fit some sort of system mean that a new manager coming in has little scope to change things, apparently we were gonna have a 'meaner and leaner' squad but end up with exactly the same bloated set up that lacks strength in key areas.
Could take a new manager a couple of seasons to change it around. Deary me.
