Hughes SACKED

I saw Harrogate vs Salford at the Harrogate ground a few weeks ago, although Salford lost, Watt looked a cut above with his excellent passing, Matt Smith whilst looking like his knees were shot won pretty much everything in the air.

There was a stonking lager on called black and yellow for £3.50 a pint.

Yeah, I really miss those "no look" passes into the channel and out for a goal kick.

 

So out of the nine clubs expected, by the their owners/fans to be getting promotion, with Alexander going at MK Dons, three have already sacked their managers.

The ten I mean are MK Dons, Stockport, us, Salford, Mansfield, Swindon, Gillingham, Wrexham and Notts County

Out of those who fail to go up, I'd expect only Williams to survive at Notts County.

I think Clough would get a bit more time at Mansfield. He signed a new long term contract in the summer.

I thought it was just a years extension? Their owner was on the TV the other day and when asked about their unbeaten starts - said he expected Top 3.

 

They've been correct to stick with him, because they've made good progress during the last couple years.

However, he's easily my favourite for the boot if they don't go up.

 

I thought he was a little fortunate to keep his job after failing to reach the play-offs last season. But his team have started this season very well and if he takes them up Mr Radford's loyalty will have been rewarded.

Fail again this season and, as you suggest, he'll surely be out the door.

 

They had a lot of injuries last season. They probably did well to finish 8th.
They had 11 out injured at one stage after Xmas.

I've always liked him and love his post match interviews. I think their horrendous injury list last season, saved him though and yes this is his last chance.

 

Plenty of time for Mansfield to bottle it. They’re been a strong performing side on xG for years so promotion would be fully deserved and overdue, but they always find a way to fail.

But would it? If fans can see the direction the club is heading, there's a clear philosophy over style, recruitment and investment then I think the majority would accept for the greater long term good, obstacles need to be overcome. Unfortunately at City I just haven't seen that for many years with the constant chopping and changing that's been evident from the hierarchy, which I think then leads to fan frustration.

 

I'm not convinced it would. He puts half decent teams together and plays decent committed football and we would put up with that if the effort was there. Barring the first three months under T&S, we've had six years of non committed players and paint dry football.

 

Not sure if this has been posted before but as Simon Parker says "City’s players have made it plain what they think", I can understand players keeping quite whilst Mark Hughes was at the club but fans aren't stupid we knew something was amiss some suggesting Mark Hughes had lost the dressing room, now we know what uncalled for pressure Mark Hughes put on 4th division players who weren't capable of playing "his way".
