Yes if Hughes was still in charge (and we left after 60 mins in that horrible game too) but now with McDonald in charge, maybe things will be better - we hope!!

After the last 3 home games where we had about 20 minutes of mildly decent football combined over the whole 3 games I genuinely don’t think it could be much worse.
I always go with a bit of hope.
Unfortunately,those recent performances make me think we might have to accept a bit more sh!t before we think about turning any corners.

Agree at times the assistant can be overlooked, I'd say Mick Jones was very much a big part of the McFarland/Jones partnership, and a few players who'd run through a brick wall for the cause helps, unfortunately I don't see many in this squad prepared to do that.

 

Funny old game mate, Woodgate's name was mentioned on here before Hughes, were a cinical lot us football fans but I wouldn't have it any other way it makes for good debate.

Find a good right winger and along with Cook we've got some excellent attacking options.

 

I'm a football bettor. I made a lot of money backing Lincoln City while the Cowleys were there and lost a lot of money backing Pompey when the brothers were there. Their failure at Portsmouth, though they left the team tenth in League One, was a big and surprising disappointment. But my faith in them remains undimmed and I'm sure they'd say (doesn't everyone?) that they've learned more from their first failure than from their many previous successes.

Every time any club has a managerial vacancy I'm interested in who gets the job. I've got my eye on the Gillingham situation too though not so much the Wednesday mess; I'd be very sorry if the Cowleys went there.

I do find Bradford City an intriguing club. Yours is such a big city but of course having two clubs of fairly equal size for most of the last century did neither of you many favours. The withering away to the sad rump of a club Bradford is today means you've a large population for an effectively one club city. Mind I fear (you'd know better than me) that there are as many Leeds or manu fans in Bradford as Bradford City supporters. Nevertheless the potential if somebody really gets it right with you is tremendous. That's why, far more than other managerial vacancies, I want to see you get this one right and appoint Danny and Nicky.

 

We potentially already have one in Wilson.

Karl Robinson at only 43 has managed nearly 700 games, mainly at L1 level. He wouldn't be the worst option out there. He does have a link to Mark Hughes as back when MH was at Blackburn, Robinson was a fitness coach there.

 

I want someone that can beat a man and put a cross in. Wilson, being left footed isn't that man for me.

Chapman is similar but a little more two footed so I'd like a proper right footed, right winger to compliment the balance.

 

The lad does seem to have potential, but we need to see more of him, in making chances and scoring.

 

When he came on as sub in the Harrogate game he did, on one occasion, get to the bye line and put a decent cross in with his right foot, rather than cutting in on his left. So he can do it and should be encouraged to work on that in training. It’s so much harder for a fullback if he doesn’t know whether the winger is going to go inside or out.
