But but but we get £100 a week from a fu@king embarrassing toy car that brings the match ball on so he’s doing a great job.

It would have been nice to make it two wins in a row at home especially unfortunately we couldn't for what ever reason, the first 20 minutes we didn't look in any sort of trouble then to go ahead and fold like a pack of cards which has to be a concern especially with so many seasoned pros in the squad.
Tuesday night could be a make or break game for Hughes I believe even if we do get a win which for me is the only acceptable result he is still on dodgy ground, no more excuses that squad Hughes had available yesterday was quite capable of getting a win, Chapman and Oliver coming back will strengthen the squad but I'm not sure they can turn our fortunes around.

Well Rupp should act and get rid of Sparks! Seriously, time to get a CEO in that knows what he is bloody doing. We have a man learning on the job and making mistake after mistake. It’s costing us badly!

This is why I know Rupp isn’t serious about the club. It should be Sparks your area is marketing/communications my friend, stick to that but to move this Club forward it’s time to get a real CEO in.

I won’t care if it was one of Rupp’s mates bottomline is Spark and Rupp team is killing this club.
Blame all the managers you want but the main problem is at the top people! Understand this!

Hi Kev, currently in a very sunny Majorca with my son so hard not to feel relatively chilled despite our shambles of a club.
You are totally right about the appointment of Hughes, I was also excited and optimistic when he was appointed. But on reflection it was because he was a big name and an awesome attacking player. I sensed at an early stage that his actual managerial skills were stodgy and uninspiring at best and knew he wasn't what we needed to progress - and worried who at the club was going to effectively oversee 'big name' Hughes reign.

I am immensely saddened by how things have evolved but not surprised MH hasn't turned out as we all hoped.

What a totally depressing affair Saturday was. Felt so down, l couldn’t build any enthusiasm to make a comment.

l actually thought we played without much purpose before the goal. Stubbs had an early attempt which he should have done better with, but that aside?

A mere two points out of a possible nine at home is totally unacceptable and is relegation form.

The bloated squad which is far too big, stuffed with quantity rather that quality is a ridiculous waste of money.

Even if Hughes goes, whoever inherited this set of players has a hard job moulding them into a coherent team.

l have been supporting City for far too long to give up now, but it is very difficult to motivate myself to going. Mainly meeting up with family and friends who don’t live nearby and enjoying the couple of hour before the match.

The season could be over (from a positive point of view) by next Saturday evening.

That wouldn't be a bad call, and maybe one that would be acceptable to both Rupp and Sparks, he has a vast knowledge with regards football generally and of course the fact that he's a Bradford City fan born and bred would be IMO more of a challenge than the "consultancy fee".

I think it's something that people talk about when we've lost a game. It's a smokescreen. Everyone could see where the game was lost yesterday and it had nothing to do with us not having the right number of tiers of management setting direction and strategy.

Starting to ‘grasp’ at straws here.

Bristol Rovers in their promotion season 2022 got off to a poorer start than us.

Comparable table the same number of games in.

But a once in a blue moon happening?

Spot on. This is what is so frightening. We need a grown up who knows what is happening and can start to put this right.

The home form throughout MH tenure has been average at best and this season is entirely sacakable. The squad is too big and imbalanced. That said I am convinced an experienced L2 manager would get this group going within a few weeks.

I would keep him to continue his good work on the corporate and sponsorship activity. We need a football man or woman to put that side of the club right. Plus I can’t see Rupp getting rid of him, he has kept us sustainable so he Rupp doesn’t have to dig deep.

That last sentence sums up why this club is failing and has done since Rupp fully took over!

Sustainable is bollocks and to not make key decisions because of it is an utter joke to fans and the club.

There's a few things that show poor planning for me.

I tend to agree with Jason @ Woap - Hughes changed the style of play to a back three to try and get more out of what would have been a similar group of players but it was a real error of judgement and recruitment did not match what was needed to play that way.

Recruitment was poor because players have come in and in a short time shown that they aren't right in a role or aren't good enough so we've had to go and recruit more.

Those two things are very linked in my view.

Finally, the pattern of play lacks pace or dynamism to create chances and our set piece planning has been non-existant for the last couple of seasons which Walsall just showed yesterday was stupid. No team wins every game, no team dominates all the game but we rarely look like winning a half and we just don't seem to have a formation and pattern of play which suggests we will create 8-10 chances a game and possibly score one.

It's just become very disappointing, again.

Was that when they went up on goal difference? After thumping Scunny 7-0 on the final day?
Can't imagine we'd pull that off

Absolutely spot on the money. All this fluff about a lack of football people in the club is pure fluff, and deflecting from the heart of the matter. Hughes IS a football person, yet still gets it wrong .

Ha ha. I'm not saying he's resigned, I'm saying allegedly, according to a sauce, he's resigned, i'm relaying what ive been told, not pronouncing it as fact. Its called judicial use of the word 'allegedly' Who knows and as I've said on other posts well just have to see what transpires.

    Do I think it's true ? No.
Could it be true ? Yes.
Do I want it to be true ? Not really, I want Hughes to succeed.

You enjoy your holiday and don’t let the state of affairs drag you down, I’m sure it won’t. Enjoy the time with your lad , which is a damn sight more important. We too are away next week, time to move on in the saga of BCAFC I believe.
