I honestly haven't a clue where we go from here. I've no faith in Sparks making the right appointment. We've a bloated squad of mainly average players, sat comfy on 2/3 year contracts. Whoever comes in will have the problem of a sizeable number of disenchanted members of the squad, unable to make the match day eighteen, with the potential damaging consequences to morale of idle hands. Some players must already be thinking "what the hell have I done coming here?" What the hell was Sparks thinking of, allowing Hughes to bring in so many players? There needs to be wholesale changes - Hughes, Hodges, Trueman and Gent shown the door.

I said on here a few weeks ago that I'd like to see Morais on the staff in some coaching capacity. Listening to him....and then Hughes....is like chalk and cheese. The players would be in no doubt what was expected of them given the articulate manner and clarity of his comments.

We're on the slippery slope and I'm really fearful of how this is going to end up.

Can't have that we'll be accused of "Dark Age Football" I don't have coaching badges but for those that have and make comments like "if you have all your players back there is less chance for the opposition to score", today showed that not to be the case in fact it makes set pieces become a bit of a lottery especially if the guy taking them can produce a consistent cross into the danger zone area, give me the likes of Nahki Wells near the half way line keeping two opposition defender busy and out of our penalty box, but hay there must be a reason as the majority of teams use those tactics.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned on here, but I didn’t see or hear about a sponsors motm award today?
Hopefully the sponsors told Sparks straight that they refuse to award it to anyone as they all played dog shite

Watched a different game to you then Kevin. He was dreadfully slow, caught in possession in dangerous areas, and no influence on the game whatsoever

I'd exempt Halliday from that assessment.

I must have been watching a different game Kevin,he was awful in my opinion .I know he isn’t quick but today he looked the slowest player on the pitch with the sideways passing got us nowhere and when he did pass forward it seemed the opposition ended up with the ball.I thought he was fantastic against Newport where he controlled the game and other players around him playing well.

Fair enough, one thing about Halliday is that he does give his all regardless

One of the things that really narks me is that Pointon didn’t even make the bench today, in favour of the unbelievably inept Oduor. He isn’t injured, and must be distraught to be left out of a game when he’s done very little wrong. The fans already love the kid, seems MH doesn’t

We are all supporters , we are all avid football watchers. I tell you what, I couldn’t name anyone as our next manager. Not one, who is “ available” I think that could come in and do a decent job. I thought MH could , but clearly he’s proven that’s not the case. So who next?

Post match, how many times have we heard some kind of variation on 'teams come to VP and set up to play this way or that way and it makes it very difficult for us'. Stubbs did it again today and I'm sick and tired of hearing it trotted out as an excuse. We have the biggest crowds and stadium in the league and should be using that to our advantage, not making out that it some how makes us the underdogs at home. It's ridiculous and pathetic.

Agree with you post overall but this highlighted says it all for me, we don't know what goes on behind the scenes and I'm not suggesting playing Bobby Pointon because he's one of our own but surely the kid has shown enough to get a spot on the bench if for nothing else his enthusiasm once he's introduced.

When players sign for Bradford City it must come as a hell of a shock they have never encountered this situation before in their careers, it must be really difficult to counter teams parking the bus, ho just a minute Walsall didn't.
Playing in front of 16/17,000 every other week should have footballers chaffing at the bit, well thats what most tell us when they sign for our club, yes when things aren't going well I accept 16/17,000 unhappy fans may be a little intimidating but what could be better than 16/17,000 cheering you on when you do your job.

But there is someone who is available right now who I'm very optimistic would come in and do a more than decent job.
I didn't think Mark Hughes could. Mind I did think Derek Adams would.
Nothing's certain but I'd be very confident of the Cowleys dispelling the dark clouds over Valley Parade in very short time.

Agree and never recovered from not admitting he got banks off/platt on wrong in that game. Although don't know why I'm suprised he never admits to getting anything wrong.

When you've got a big squad and players are moaning about not getting game time, it's easier to leave out the youngster, to keep someone else happy. I wonder what the young centre back, on loan from Norwich, who came all starry eyed, and can't get a look in, is thinking?

Also giving credit to Walsall for how well they marked cook. Cook and the defenders had nothing to do we created nothing but the penalty. Well it wasn't even a penalty it was outside the box but that is irrelevant.
