If young keeps this up then no doubt Bradford fans would be screaming for him to be recalled - which he may well be. But if Hughes is still in charge and he recalls Young, then he's going to be under a feck ton of pressure if he can't get him scoring.

Personally, I'm more concerned about the possibility of losing Kemp. But that's not to take anything away from Young. He's been superb; reminds me of Jerry Yates.

 

Unbelievably embarrassing

 

I was one of a very few who believe the Young situation should have been handled differently, IMO new season the slate is wiped clean, not for the first time we had a player who couldn't hit a barn door for our manager so he loaned him out to Swindon.
As I posted if Jake continues as he's doing Hughes has to sell him on or certainly recall him he can't be seen to allow a Bradford city player be be scoring for a team that is in contention for a promotion place as I hope Bradford city will be.

 

According to Flynn, Bradford will have to pay a fee to recall him. (We left it as a deposit or something). No idea how much, probably not a lot, but it may well come into play if you did want to recall him to sell.

 

I don’t think for a minute we will recall him, and certainly not this window. So I think you are safe for the time being.

 

If we recall him, and sell in January, please can we make sure it's not to Swindon.

 

Highest bidder would be my preference.

 

If he carries on scoring at the rate he's doing, he's worth far more than the 300k Wrexham have just paid for Hanlon.

 

That doesn't suprise me Hughes would prefer Jake out of the club permanently, I would think your correct it would be an insignificant fee.

 

He won't carry on scoring at that rate.

At today's press conference Jamie Raynor asked Mark Hughes about Jake Young. I am sure he will post the clip somewhere.

 

I wouldn't be so sure. As impressive as Young's start at Swindon has been, I doubt many managers will be willing to spend that much on a player who's had 1/2 of a good season at L2. His overall history suggests he's pretty much Meh and I reckon it'll take more than half a season to overcome that.

300K will get a player that's less of a punt - like Hanlon has a long and consistent history and has played most of his games at a higher level. And I wouldn't be surprised if Wrexham paid over the odds for Hanlon anyway.

Young is, well, young, which would help boost his appeal. But I still think most managers would prefer to spend that kind of money on a more thoroughly tested player. He'd be an exciting punt, but 300k is expensive for a punt unless you're in the top two leagues.

 

If Young is worth that much , despite the fluke start to his Swindon trip, then football has gone frankly bonkers. By all accounts he struggled to train , he struggled under a different manager at Barrow, he was absolutely disinterested against a group of part timers.

No ill will against the lad but as a pro footballer, one would expect better? . On the showing at Barrow, ask what they didn’t come back for him even though he was probably free gratis, and his behaviour at BCAFC , I would wave bye bye.

I hope he continues to pull up trees, somehow, I doubt it?

For those with differing opinions, fair enough, but his time at Barrow says more to me than his time , and his alleged fall out with Hughes, at BCAFC.
