A disagreement based on Hughes not rating Young. He didn't not play him just because they had an agreement, the whole alleged disagreement was based on Young angry at not getting picked.

 

Very true, and you'd think that would make us an attractive proposition but it seems not. The only other thing I can think must be putting people off is because we train at a school.

So how come Wrexham, who didn't own their ground or training facilities were an attractive proposition, but Bradford City are not?

 

When the club is eventually sold history tells us that it would be taken over by new well meaning custodians and run in exactly the same way.

I'm sure I read recently that the suggestion he wants 10+ million are way over the mark and the actual figure he'd sell at is around 6 million. Obviously I don't know how true either of those figures are, but if we really want someone with serious money to take us over, that amount would be small change to them.

Yes, well overpriced. Don't think anyone is doubt the potential, but there isn't a financial advisor around that would say we are a good purchase right now for the money Rupp wants. He wanted his money back on the sale and I believe it was around £10-11M quoted? Doubt he'd get half that with the club in L2.

Because Wrexham only cost £2m for purchasing the club. The belief around the WAGMI times was that Rupp wanted around £10-11M for City.

Attractive proposition and a smart proposition are two very different things.

 

WAGMI were trying to overspend there way into the market and we were the white whale they promised to their yank investors. Wasn't it believed that they actually over bid Rupps valuation?

When our purchase fell through, a lot of their more known backers dropped out too. Crawleys old owners had their pants down when they were in negations with a new buyer anyway with a quoted £3m sale, WAGMI came in and offered £5M and they accepted.

And Hughes was right to drop him. There weren’t many who disagreed and I still don’t based on my observations at the time. For some reason he became lazy. Compare him to say Wright for example and latterly Banks. They got used to the idea that tracking back to help defensively was required. I got the distinct impression Young thought that was beneath him? I can’t think of anything other than Young brought it on himself?
