We might have got a small fee which covered the cost of buying Richards from Wolves.

the lad who went to Brighton from our academy signed his first professional contract with them last week. They don't mess about, if he turns half decent and we have a healthy sell on we should get a fair whack. (In five years mind)

The McBurnie money helped offset most of the damage done by herr Rahic and Rupp took over the rest. As it stands we are financially healthy due in main to the fantastic support of the Bradford public, that backing allows more sponsors to come on board and allows a 'competitive' budget whilst keeping the club self sustainable. I've stated elsewhere about folk criticising the fan base at times, the amazing support this club now gets should never be taken for granted. Its the whole reason we are where we are financially.

Spot on, assisted of course by the cheap season deals, ( Which as soon as is practicable in inflationary times) should be increased by £25-50 whilst still maintaining extra cheap under 15’s seasons. (Imho of course)

This is what is making me grind my teeth. We are keeping this club afloat in our many thousands. We have what can only be described as a Caretaker Owner. He has had all his money back from the Rahic debacle, and even if he hasn’t he should write that money off as compensation to the City fans for allowing that crook anywhere near our club. So now he is taking dividends, nice little number, no planning, no investment and for all we know turning would be investors down by the bucket load.

My view of Rupp is thanks for input but it is time for our club to move to the next level. We now sustainability, but we need investors to be ambitious and take balanced risks.

Of course but who. ? We can repeat the same old same old we need a new wealthy owner, but until then, we are where we are. A club that’s survives and isn’t in debt is pretty much welcome at the moment . Of course we all want a money bags supporter to drop from Mars, but until then …….

Very good point. Life is all about risk versus reward and Sparks has pretty much admitted Rupp has no interest in taking anymore risk after his first and probably last foray into the world of football investment, him taking over Rahic's share mainly to look after his initial investment. For the record i don't dislike Rupp. He seems a decent guy caught up in something he never envisaged. And if Hughes does put a few wins together this debate will die down just like last time. Maybe there is someone mad enough to want be a part of this at times crazy club and throw investment atit, iguess dafter things have happened.

I don’t dislike Rupp either, I think he was naive if he thought he could write a cheque and rake in the divi’s and have nothing to do with the footballing side, but it is not a sin to be naive. Plus he didn’t panic when everything was revealed, but carried on. I do appreciate his steady hands. However, football clubs with ambition cannot sit still. Sustainability is good, and what we would have given for that back in our turbulent days.

I am watching clubs being taken over by billionaire’s in the lower leagues. I would think our club is a shining example of sustainability and no debts, with a steady population of 15,000+ fans attending. A stadium that can take more, why wouldn’t you want to do that if you want to invest your billions? I don’t understand why we don’t have a queue.

To be fair it was last throw of the dice as the product was that damaged no one would touch it with a barge pole. Phil Parkinson turned this club around, no one else. If not for him we'd still be in debt and drowning in the league 2 cesspit. Well at least the debt cleared....

Parky did a good job but Lawn and Rhodes are responsible for the big crowds we get. Without there foresight we would be averaging pbetween 6 and 7 k every week with all that entails

I dont disagree but youd have to think maybe Hughes is the problem and not Young. Couldnt get a tune. Early days for Young at Swindon mind. See what happens after another dozen games....

That said we saw it with Josh Morris and Eoin Doyle.

Serge the clown in charge at the time did not get Doyle back did he? So not sure if he will bring him back. Its his assists that are interesting me ...that means he is trying again....

Because all you would be buying are liabilities, The only asset the club has is the league share, The ground rent and players contracts are a debt on the club and that is what you would be buying. However Rupp is right not to sell unless a purchaser has the money needed to invest and promote the club further, He keeps it ticking over until that happens, The last thing the club needs is a new owner without a pot to p*ss in scraping along again

Yes but they are all funded by the Bradford public in particular ST holders. You are not buying unfunded debt. Lots of clubs are in a similar position, it hasn’t put billionaires off. What did Wrexham have?

They wouldn’t be inheriting a load of debt though unlike with most clubs for sale

Rewriting history here, it wasn’t down to talent or lack of talent. It was down to a disagreement between player and manager.

Talk here of "raking in dividends". Do we know Rupp is taking a dividend? I'm asking because I don't know. I thought we pay a management fee to a Rupp company and that was it, or was that back in Rahic days. Repayment of his loan is totally separate. Over to you @Dennis@Dennis

He is a goal scorer. He has scored goals at all of his clubs apart from Barrow where he was played as a wingback I believe, We must have rated him to pay a fee and a 3 year deal

Think it's been said many times before, but thats the problem with a Bradford City sale. You either need someone who is a very loaded Bradford fan and is intent on owning us, or you need someone with more money than sense who wants to get into owning a football club. Which sometimes works for your fans like your Wrexhams, sometimes doesn't like your Crawleys.

For the price Rupp was quoted at, you can buy a well based L1 club for sure. If your potential owner wants to buy in L2 and build up, there's other clubs that will cost half and probably own assets like training facilities or their stadium etc which we don't, hence the "project building" owner would be looking at multi millions down the line and we just wouldn't be a smart investment right now. Like Wrexham, they didn't own their ground or training facilities but after the purchase they have bought the ground back and started redevelopment and also are building up a new state of the art training complex.

The double edged problem, is that whilst in L2 we just aren't a sensible value for money. But we aren't getting money from the owner or a plan from him to move the club forward either. It's Rupp until either we luck our way up to L1 or someone with far too much money thinks we are worth the long plan. I don't know of many other clubs that want a new owner after a promotion either, so even going up means he'll still be here, but his price is far more attractive the next tier up with the added TV money & competition money the club would bring in.
