He sacked Stuart and Hughes legend doesn't stretch much outside the Manchester postcodes, so why not.

 

Probably down to money i actually feel for Sparkes on this one he's brought in a manager we all wanted he backed with scouting and funds for the team not his fault that Hughes continues to.get the basics badly wrong

 

The annoying/baffling thing for me is that with the squad where it is then playing to it's strengths it sort of picks itself

Mid - Odour/New winger needed - Smallwood - Walker/Pattison (swapping over these 2 during games from AM to Nicky Law role) McDonald (fitness dependant) / Gillead

Obviously Stubbs wasn't available yesterday so one of the other CBs had to play, but it's pretty frightening to think that we're just 1 injury / suspension away at CB to have to bring in players who don't look up to what is required, even more so when you factor in Stubbs history with injuries. Dependant on the opposition or definitely at home I'd drop either Smallwood or McDonald for Smith or Derbys. With Chapman to return to help cover the wide positions and add a good winger that team could get us out this league.

 

I was sat with a smirk on my face after the first half at Bellend Road but fair do's they kept battling on and deservedly got something from the game.
I can't criticise either the man at the top or Ryan over the last 16 months or so Hughes has been backed, I thought Mark Hughes was the man to take us out of this league, and to be honest he should have, unfortunately he doesn't seem to believe in the players he's brought in, he's far to cautious with regards his set up, but you know me Steve always the optimist.

 

The team.could get us out of this league like it should have done last season but sadly the man in charge simply ain't up to it honestly I actually despair at the modern manager is it to hard to pick your best 11 set them up in there best formation and actually go out and win games ............as someone actually told him the level this club is at ?????
We ain't setting up to play Man City or Arsenal we are up against Crawley and the loon still plays with one up top ............honestly the thought of this for months on end is sickening already

 

I actually watched it and was decked how much the ref let go compared to Mr Card happy yesterday ..............do these lot not gather in the same place and have stuff explained to them ?????

 

If the rumours are correct, the only bloke to challenge him left, on loan, last week!

And, on yesterday's events, it's hard to argue with his observation.

What rumours

 

Fully agree against most opponents at this level we should be looking to get 2 up top but as the squad stands due to the recruitment it looks a difficult ask, and trying to push the idea through by playing a back 3 system with poor L2 CBs that struggle with anything away from a back 4 and no real capable proven genuine WBs in the squad looks madness. Back to default I'd say and just play to our squads strengths, I understand last seasons 451 setup frustrated/bored many of our fan base but regardless of that at the end of the day it's a results business no matter how the team are playing.

 

Been reported on here many times. I tried scrolling back on the Transfer Rumours thread, where it was quoted in detail. Referred to on post #5039. I think it was Jordan who quoted the alleged comment he made if you scroll further back.

 

I think @King Cole means when Young was supposed to have called Hughes out, saying he was clueless or the likes.

 

One of the troubles with our set up is it’s hard to press high when their is no confidence in what’s behind you. From midfield forward we have decent players our further recruiting needs to be defensive

1 game.

After achieving a top 6 finish last season (disaster, I know), it's been 1 game.

Man, I hope we smash Accrington tomorrow and then Colchester on Saturday just so there can be some calm on here.

You lads will have heart attacks before long if you're treating every single game like this. It's not that stressful to lose 1 game. Posts on here will probably drop in volume by 70 %, and in terms of hysteria, by 100 %.

Or was happy that the tactical genius got it wrong yet again

 

The problem is that Saturday's performance should give you the prescience to know that this ain't happening. If we'd played well and succumbed to an unlucky 1-0 defeat I'd be on the same page as you.

 

Its not the result though, it's the performance.
