If we have got a Million for Wyke then it’s a great deal.especially when they they were offering half that at the beginning. Hope we can get a good replacement though it won’t be easy

 

Long balls from deep will be pointless. We will have to play through midfield(including wide)

What you talking about IF ? It's WHEN. I wouldn't bugger about with the "add on bit" or "spend it" because we're definitely coughing that up come May !

I don't believe the 500k if they are promoted, I think it will be in instalments paid as Sunderland get their parachute payments.

 

I know it fits in with the model and all that but this is a bit of a sickner for me. Sell to the championship for big bucks I get but not to a team in the same divison. In football terms it's hardly earth shattering cash he was worth that when we robbed/bought him from Carlisle. Half a million up front and then poss instalments or performance related money is poor money for him IMHO.

Hope we've got something up our sleeves because Charlie is our only real proven goal threat.

 

I highly doubt it has dragged on this long if we didn’t have something lined up.

We have waited, I think, to ensure we have our man in place once Wyke goes.

I know some people on here seem to be moving on from Charlie very quickly and without much concern but I for one will be very sorry to see him go, I think there is the potential for a really good centre forward and I think we have only seen flashes of the player he might go onto become. With this in mind I really hope the club has something built into any future deal that would give us a % and even more importantly, at least in the short term, have a decent replacement(s) lined up because for all the promising transfers we have done this summer there are still very few goals within this team - and I honestly dont think our existing strikers can be seen as anything more than lower League 1/top half League 2. Interesting 48 hours coming up!

 

Not what we need 72 hours before the season kicks off.

Hopefully this doesn't disrupt the dressing room too much in their preperation for Saturday and beyond.

 

Don't disagree, but it is difficult to judge as he has had such short stretches of games where he has played well and has missed about a third of games overall. If he can find consistency, then he could be very good, but many potentially good players can only turn it on occasionally.

 

I agree, lets wait for an announcement, if any comes!

I think the only saving grace is Charlie has not really been involved in the pre season games and it is going to be a largely new team from last season anyway
