Cant imagine so. He turned down the contract at Carlisle because he wanted assurances that he'd play as a winger, Carlisle manager told him no, he'd be used the same as this season and Patrick told him he isn't interested.

Given it looks like we aren't using wingers, I can't see that one happening.

 

I never had him down as a manager tbh.

Thought Powell may have been at Stoke when Hughes was there but Hughes left in 2018 and Powell joined in 2019.

Bar far one of the worst players I’ve seen in a city shirt he joins an esteemed list along with Chicksen, Akpan, Wright, Lewis Hunt, Theo Robinson who had such a lack of football ability and some cases pure lack of effort. I’d be devastated if I saw him back at VP

 

Cant see it. If we bring a winger in who knows he isn't going to start as we don't use that tactic, it will be a young loan like Nevers or Costelloe were to just plug a gap. Especially as we are at the limited squad reg wise as it stands.

If all goes wrong with this wing back system it seems like we are using and go back to 4231, we do have Chapman still along with Walker, Osadebe, Gilly and Odour who have all started wide. Pattison has played 10, Smith has started wide just as much as up front. I'd imagine when Young leaves his replacement will be a striker who can play wide. Will be enough to plug the gap if the tactic fails until January.

 

I thought Chicksen was decent enough, he just had the misfortune of following in the footsteps of Meredith who’s one of the best left backs we’ve had in the years I’ve been following City (Along with Wayne Jacobs)

 

We won’t see Chappy fit after his op for at least three months according to MH! I think we can write him off until Xmas then Jordan?

 

Imagine end of Oct/start of Nov at best case. But that will be probably as long as the wing back system will be given of its not working? Will be given at least 10-15 games to bed in for sure, by that point if it's failing we go with our wing options, if not and it's working Chapman will probably look for a move in January to find some play time.

 

Not sure the wing back system will be locked in the way you say. I think it will be more like horses for courses. With different formations

 

Well hopefully if he plays like he did against in the playoffs. Big, fast, strong - just what is missing.
