Id be very content with a strike force of Cook, Oliver, Derbyshire & Wyke next season

Its about as good as you are going to get at League 2 level.

I dont for a moment believe that any potential signing of Wyke would scupper our plans of bringing some bodies in for the midfield or for the wings. A lot of players left this season, that will have freed up a lot of wages.

In regards to Wyke, If his health situation was as bad as people are making it out to be, He'd of retired and/or Wigan may of released him.

Has it occured in anyone's mind, for just a moment, that the reason Wyke didn't feature much last season or the season before is because he may not be a good enough starter for a championship side that is constantly facing relegation? just food for thought.

If were solely basing players off minutes they have played for other teams in divisions above us, then Oliver is one of the best strikers in the league, an Crichlow an Wright should never of been good enough to play for us

I'm never that convinced that dealing early is such a big advantage.

If you remember, on average, Parky never did it and obviously (still doesn't as Wrexham have started quietly)

I'd argue we've made our best signings from mid July onwards. Nathan Doyle is a classic example, signed 2nd August 2012.

It only needs a surprise big transfer to a Premiership club, for that to eventually trickle down to us - so a decent player then gets made available.

I'll settle for one key signing each month and two or three other fillers.

I disagree. If the money and everything else is the the same, a player that's got something about them, is going to want to play to a bigger crowd.

Williams, basically went for more money - which will for a player like him at his stage of his career be more important. Plus he's likely to be less impressed with big crowds, given that he's been a Welsh international and played for league clubs with decent crowds.

But no, it's not going to give us an advantage over Wrexham as their story (and money) is a bigger attraction than our crowds.

However, there are enough players who will be swayed and we must easily be one of three L2's top attractions.

It’s a damned if you do , damned if you don’t don’t. Prem loanees tend to be released at the back end, where decent players out of contact need to be snapped up quickly.

The last team I mention would be Parky’s. Zero interest other than twice in the forthcoming season.

But these decent players, tend to take their time. Managers have to be patient, but some will look elsewhere if they don't get an immediate 'yes'.

Paul Simpson said he was giving the players he made offers to a week to decide. That's ridiculous - it has to be judged on the needs of each individual player. And they can also be told they are too late, if someone else is found.

Once it’s gone it’s gone, and if the T&A went out of business they’d be nothing left to report on City. Going back, the National papers had regional sports news and covered lower divisions but now there all Man City, Utd . It’s good you get a City story each day in the T&A website something we never used to get in the summer. It’s your choice though. However back to transfer rumours and I don’t know any.

Just on the Williams point. There seems to be a view from some he went for the money. There are conflicting reports on this element. Some stating Gillingham offered him better terms and others stating they matched Bradford's offer. Either way, if you listen to the player and his justification, it all came down to location, not money.

He's from Kent and Gillingham is a club he has expressed a desire to play for at some point in his career. His friends and family are from the area also. These are all factors outside of Bradford City's control and a very compelling set of circumstances for a player to consider. I don't personally believe money had anything to do with William's snubbing us, it was location and his desire to fulfill an ambition to play for Gillingham.

At League 2 level, Bradford have nothing to fear in terms of being financially competitive.

We DO NOT know , neither do I , he went for MORE money. The facts are more likely , and it’s widely reported , it’s because he lives in the area, so does his family.

I don't begrudge the location argument, most people would do the same.

What doesn't make sense to me in that argument though is why bother with us in the first place? There would have been enough clubs between Gillingham and West Yorkshire to show an interest that he could've gone to. It's not like we would've been the only two options.

Dunno why were still discussing Williams. He doesn't have to relocate, gets to be closer to family, gets paid more an gets to play for a team fighting promotion. Yes, the way he went about it was a dick move, but its business an stuff like this happens

lets move on....when are city announcing these 2 signings?
