Palace released 2 kids, a LB and a RW. Both have decent records at PL2 level. Hannam and Omilabu. Latter a superb one for our fans to get his name wrong like Osabede and Obusina.

 

Bournemouth, Brentford or Luton.......if it is Brentford I would take their released left winger Fosu.

Longstaff is shit. He's living off his brother's name and the fact he made a few prem appearances. Mansfield fans didn't rate him and he barely got a kick at Colchester who sent him back early.

 

Didn't pull up any trees at Mansfield. Was just injured all the time at Colchester. Did his hamstring in pre season, again after a few games then did his ACL in December, harsh to say they sent him back. More a case of, cancel the loan because there's no chance of him kicking a ball again during the loan spell.

 

He suffered an ACL injury at Colchester - started 5 games and pretty much it. Sent back on Jan 1st. Ask Colchester fans what they think of Tyriek Wright.

Mansfield spell was better - 6 goals in 16 games for Mansfield. Thats a very good return. The fans blamed him for their final loss.

 

So if you had agreed to sell him your car as he said he was having it and he reneged on the deal would it be right for him to do that too?

Its poor form when you've gone so far down a road with another party (ie us) , it appears money motivated for him to come here and he pushed his potential wages and contract length with us up to a level that when he then got an offer to stay local(after agreeing those terms with us) he was quids in.

i do think we are going to struggle this season due to the money that seems to be floating about in L2, Notts county have signed McGoldrick from Derby.

Longstaff was reportedly on 25K per week, so I would imagine that when he was at Mansfield/Colchester, they paid a tiny fraction of his salary (if any at all). He'd be a great signing but I bet he'll end up in the Champ / League 1.

Re Palace, did they release Banks? I can't see anything about a retained list and i'm sure his contract was up this summer.

 

His time at Mansfield wasn't that bad Jordan, 16 appearances 6 goals, but as you point out could we keep him fit.

Looking at a Newcastle forum, he was injury prone his youth career too. Yes good return on paper, Mansfield fans thought he general play was hit and miss but they mainly blame his performance at Wembley for them not going up the other year.

In Ryan's interview last week he mentioned that we were fighting for two young Premier league loan players and wanting to get them signed early before others. Fingers crossed Broncs.
