Spent to long on the treatment table and when he did play the floor We probably didn’t see the best of him to be fair.

 

Never really got to see him play more than a handful of games. Nice lad who deserves an injury free period. Would have Vernam back here tomorrow.

So Swindon fans reckon Williams was on over 4k a week with them, we apparently offered considerably more and Gillingham have offered more than us. That could mean they are paying around 5k a week for 3 years for a player who is injury prone and even when fit, struggles to last longer than about an hour. I think we've dodged a bullet.

Williams has gone to Gillingham, ok move on. No time to be wasting thinking about how close we were. The fact we are going for players like Williams suggests we are not going for cheap options this year. Let’s see who we sign instead.

 

Wouldn't you have Vernam back Kev? Better than what we currently have out wide since Wright and Banks left.

 

Didn’t Bolton have Massive debts and still get promoted .Now a few years on with a playoff place in div one and cup in the cupboard with 40 thousand fans at Wembley the club must be in a better position ?

 

I'm not arsed about this one really. Williams is a good player but we need pace, energy and physicality in that midfield and he doesn't have any of those attributes.

A Smallwood and Williams midfield partnership would've been severely bullied in this division.

Signing Liverpool’s 4th keeper is a good signing. He’s highly rated.

As for Crewe losing there too forward. They will replace him.

Teams are making good signings already.

Eisa had a steady career until Derek Adams ran him into the ground, and he’s never been the same since.

No it isn't sour grapes. I would've taken him here as he would've enhanced the quality in the squad but our more pressing priority is a midfielder with different attributes to him.

 

I dont see that losing out on Williams changes'next season for us. Because even if he signed I still could not see beyond 10th. We need better, infact much better and 7-8 of them all nailed on first team starters.
