One thing it does prove though is that if Herr Rupp does eventually want to sell BCFC for a return on his investment and/or get us out of the Kazi league then he needs to dip his hand in his pocket - and not just once. Plenty of northern based players around to throw some money at. Other chairmen showing their willingness to spend and has been alluded to already it’s getting harder and harder each year to gain promotion - defo agree an opportunity missed last season. However still plenty of time for high profile signings before the 23/24 season

 

He’s 29.
Worries me this a bit. Other clubs able to gazump us. Wrexham and County ain’t short of a bob or two. I’ve a feeling this season is the season we look back on last, and think “if only”.

Aygei is replaceable

 

Not linking him, but Newcastle released Matty Longstaff today. Had 2 loans at L2 level at Mansfield and Colchester, this seasons at colchester looks to have been an injury nightmare season, with a bad hamstring injury at the start of the season and then he did his ACL in December.

This will be his level and he was a leggy midfielder before, might be one to keep an eye on? Not expected to sign anywhere for a while until he's further on in his recovery.

 

With respect, its not easy replacing your top scorer. As for the keeper signed, he's only 19, how do you know he is an instant improvement on who they had as number 1 last season?

He's considerably worse than Vernam. Eisa looked pretty poor outside of maybe two or three games. Spent far too long on the treatment table. Don't wish ill on him as he seemed a nice lad. Good luck to him. Hope he puts his injuries behind him.

Depressingly you are correct.

 

He was injured most of the 2 years he was here. Got a couple of games at the end of the season when Harry Chapman got injured and he was woeful quite frankly.

I understand he has worked with Hurst a couple of times, so hopefully for you he stays injury free and Hurst gets the best out of him.

Personally, I would rather have Vernam all day long
