    Williams has been at the peak goal scoring form of his career over the last two seasons. However 21 goals over 218 career appearances, is not startling. Let’s hope he can repeat the recent form, rather than lapsing into a barren run.

    I should think so.

    He had to move out left to accommodate Clayton, who could never have played further forward, but his best position is definitely defensive midfield.

    Thank you for the update. Good news. I hope the contracts get sorted and the lads do well and we actually see them in the team. We have been short of home grown talent for years and years and the situation has really been unsatisfactory. Don't you think so?

    If Joniesta does indeed sign, providing he has a relatively injury free time of it, we would have a classy player for this level and one who would have no problem stepping up to league 1 if we can get promoted during his time here.

    If Williams came, I'd see a Walker / Cook / Williams 'front' line and provided all three were fully fit for 75% of the matches, suddenly we might be getting the 65+ goals that are usually needed (though not last season) for automatic promotion.

    Be interesting to see exactly where he would play. One thing's for certain though, as we see with the clubs that are after him, he would be a very good signing.

    Out of all the players I've seen back in L2, he's been the best I've seen. If you remember he ran the show at our place last season (21/22) before tiring and getting replaced by Jack Payne (who of course scored!!)

    If this happens, I’ll be very happy. Add Agyie to this, even more so.

    Williams and Smallwood, on paper, with Walker and Cook, should absolutely terrify the opposition. As an opposition supporter id be worried with them against my team.

    I’ve always liked Williams since watching the Sunderland doc on Netflix. He’s exactly the type of player we need in CM.
