As predicted, our sales are climbing steadily. On course for 12k+ by close of play tomorrow.

Well under 16’s should have adults with them! If adult and kid can’t go to collect tickets then tough.

In this day and age, people shouldn't have to collect their own tickets. Simples. Why have 1,000 callers at the ticket office when you can do it with 200.

Hoe about everyone who goes into a pub has to buy their own drink ?

Supporting a football club isn't like going to your local car wash!

Let's give you a real life example based on your suggested approach. One fan usually buys 3 tickets under the Friends & Family scheme for himself and his two friends.. He lives the closest to VP with about a 1.5hrs car drive each way. One of his mates lives on the far side of Chester - over 2hrs away and the other one lives near Buxton, another 2 hrs journey to VP.

What should we do if the only option under your proposal is for each of us to collect our tickets from the ticket office?

Well you wouldn’t call if you can’t collect your ticket.

I’ve just read the last 3 pages of this thread @Fordy117@Fordy117 and I simply cannot understand your argument.
If you were on my friends and family I wouldn’t be able to buy you a ticket unless you had enough points.
When 1 person buys for all their friends / family the loyalty points are added to each member.

Of course you can never stop someone with enough points getting a ticket and selling it on.
I know people who have season tickets at Liverpool who go to 5 games a season and sell their ST to friends when they don’t go.
I also know a lad who got a Man Utd away ticket for Leeds and he’s never been to a United away game ever. It happens, get over it.

but I think you’ll find that in our case the people eligible to buy a Carlisle ticket will be attending. They are unlikely to be selling it on.

Well fans shouldn’t be allowed to collect more than 2 tickets and ID shown along with the season ticket.

Fans shouldn’t be able to connect more than 1 other friend or family when it comes to away games.

Deadlines given for collection. Past the time they go back on general sale.

Loyalty points for away games on to the paying person.

Anyone found transferring or passing on tickets should be given a ban.

I could expand more but the point is clear.

“Well fans shouldn’t be allowed to collect more than 2 tickets and ID shown along with the season ticket”
I agree about showing ID to collect but no restriction on numbers if all on the same booking

“Fans shouldn’t be able to connect more than 1 other friend or family when it comes to away games.”
Thats stupid, what if you have partner and 2 kids ?

“Deadlines given for collection. Past the time they go back on general sale.”
Also stupid, what about people who live hundreds of miles from VP. Can’t they collect from the away ground?

“Loyalty points for away games on to the paying person.
Anyone found transferring or passing on tickets should be given a ban.”
Partially agree, it’s probably fair to return unwanted tickets back to the club for resale but often it’s a last minute reason why someone might not be able to attend so most people will just take someone else.
I agree that someone buying a limited supply ticket knowing they cannot go and with the whole intention of selling it on for profit or to fans without enough points is wrong but without personalising tickets and showing ID at the turnstiles there’s very little you can do about that.

No, as you have just shy of 2k!

I’d guess 12-12.5k sold by close of office hours tomorrow, plus your 1.9k, and likely still a few on the day sales.

So at the time I posted you had sold 11,000, we had done 1,900 and your ground holds 18,000. So that would be about 5k at the time?

Or is the 18,000 capacity wrong?

According to Wiki the capacity was reduced to 17.001 in 2012, but it also says the Warwick Rd end holds 8,500 and the Pioneer Stand holds 7,000.

The first is impossible as it would mean it's capacity was more than our Kop (even if this stand is "standing" it would still make it bigger than our Kop when that was single tier and standing) and the second unlikely as it's pretty much the size of our Midland Road Stand.

Other articles I have read have the capacity at 16,651. I guess like Valley Parade there will always be two figures - an official capacity that it is impossible to hit, and an actual capacity which allows for broken seats, segregation and other areas that are unusable.

My guess is their attendance will be under 15,000 tomorrow.

Carlisle vs Everton in the FA Cup 4th Round in January 2016 had an attendance of 17,100

This suggests that a true capacity is somewhere in the 17,000s

    And as predicted!

Think our capacity has been around the 17300 mark in recent years. Looks like 14k have been sold so far, so looking at making the 15k mark now.

That's the Warwick Road End. Even David Blunkett can see that doesn't hold 8,500.
