Pre-season Friendly - Getafe CF (Spain) v Bradford City

The lack of integrity shown by club executives has upset me.

Essentially fans are being blackmailed to pay for an overpriced trip and being told this is the only way to see the game.

Is this even legal?

I have a quiet week at work this week so might do some digging / complain to the independent football ombudsman (www.theifo.co.uk) and see what comes of it. Surely there is regulation in place to prevent this type of behaviour.

 

If the match is played at a training ground, then this would be viewed as "invitation only" and not only legal, but also morally correct. If it's played at their ground, with paying supporters attending, then it's a con.

 

I think we might be over reacting here. Yes it does sound unprofessional at the least offering trips via a mates company that was formed in the last couple of months. But they are only asking for an expression of interest and reading through this thread I think they will have their answer.

Ah I didn't read that far - what details did they require?

 

A much better way of going about this would be to offer the whole package as an option for City fans, for example:

"City fans can choose to book a package for 3* or a 4* accomodation for 3 nights which includes a match ticket and return transfers to the stadium, alternatively, they are welcome to make their own arrangements with ticketing information to become available closer to the game"

I'm going to the game independently. My girlfriend has a place just 50 mins drive away from Elda. It coincides with us being over there.
I'm sure that you'll be able to get a ticket on the day.
The bs about only going with the club is simply to make sure they max revenue and stop folk contacting them for match tickets.
It will be interesting to see what loyalty points you get for this given that the cheapest package is the same as a season ticket.

 

I am not registering interest in the hopes they bin this off, if it was with a more reputable company I would be game. its not even clear if flights are included. it states transfer from alicante how would that work? hourly collections from the airport or something?

 

and something I have just noticed, Kadima Sports Ltd is not ABTA protected.

Package holidays that are for less than 24 hours, or are for business travel, may not be protected.

they don't have a ATOL cert either but this could be down to them not selling flights - which is sort of the point of doing a package in the first place.

RED FLAG - AVOID

 

I doubt anyone is stupid enough to take the club up on this offer. However, smart people would fly there independently and blag their way into the game. Take a high-viz and a clipboard, you'll walk in for free

Once you have secured a package, you will shortly after receive an e-mail with a form to complete with your details - including your Bradford City AFC customer number - which will ensure you receive personalised tickets for the fixture.

Then, on matchday, you will be required to present photo identification alongside your match ticket, in order to admit you into the venue (venue to be confirmed).

Shocking.

 

This is one of the most unprofessional things i've ever seen from the club.

It's like they've been hacked by a scammer.

 

Is the option with just return coach travel and ticket is that a coach from Bradford?

I agree, using the good name of the club on behalf of a mate of the CEO. It is really disappointing.
