Even in the event we suddenly collapse, 8th is not midtable. I suppose using your logic, we've a chance of first though.

Potential banana skin for us, a draw absolute minimum but then Orient and Northampton will be must wins! Crewe away will be more important

That was a very good performance today by every player
Now all we have to do is repeat it for six games
Easier said than done but if we do it does not matter what other teams do we will be promoted automatically
I wonder if crewe will find a way to give us extra tickets if we need something from that game
It's not over yet come on boys we can do it

Fully agree Clayton has been vital, I'm by no means saying Claytons injury has helped us but more in the way as it's forced MH hand to not play 3 so called defensive mids.

It's hard to see him dropping either of them. However, we are a bit more open in midfield - so maybe we'd have won at Crawley, because we'd had used the ball better and huffed and puffed a bit more today.

It's arguably the ideal team. Ironically, this is largely the one Hughes surely had in mind (with Osadebe' instead of Banks plus Platt instead of Stubbs) at the start of the season - certainly the system.

Fantastic, that virtually every player is now fit - when you consider how many injury issues Mansfield, Northampton and Stevenage have.

Just shows the value of a big squad at this time of the season.

Sutton were well and truly beaten today a 5/6 - 1 defeat would have been a truer refection of todays game, not getting carried away a all just being realistic.

That was the kind of Hughes performance I expected at the start of the season at home. On the front foot, biting into tackles, creating numerous chances, slick interplay and goals. The confidence was there from the start and lasted 90 minutes. Repeat that performance and we won’t be far off…

    Never said midtable.

High possibility we could finish 8th I said and that can still be the the case.

Not just Fordy tbf, lots fancied them when they brought the has been Austin in and threw the baby out with the bath water when we brought Derbyshire in who has been a useful addition.

Austin has certainly made more of an impact than Derbyshire.

8 goals in 13, although the fact he scored 4 against Rochdale means he hasn't scored in that many games since returning to England.

I'm glad Derbyshire has performed better than I expected, but his injury record alongside his performances is exactly as predicted.

He’s also made the impact of helping his team go from 6th or wherever they were to mid table fodder. Obviously there’s more than just him at fault but it’s a team game and it can depend when goals are scored such as in dead situations or just over a couple of games. Can’t say I’ve seen him raves about by Swindon fans on social media or on the highlight show. Seems a flat track bully to me. I’m guessing he’s had an injury to only play 14 games himself.

There's an article today from Jody Morris explaining there's no rift between him and Austin after dropping him today.

Fans seem to be whinging on two fronts: Morris is a crap coach, and Austin hasn't been fit enough since he's returned.

I think fitness is still a big problem with Derbyshire, but he's likely to factor in before the end of the season.

I'm not unhappy, but based on comments from Swindon fans, BOTH Austin and Derbyshire have performed like old journeymen overall so far. I'm not sure one is massively better than the other.

Agree with your last comment and it’s sort of my point, two aging journey men join two clubs. Ones lauded as a saviour, the other called terrible. The big difference is one didn’t sign for us.

I’ve looked further into Austin and he’s only scored in one game where Swindon have actually won and that was a 5-0 win so he could easily have not scored and nobody would have noticed. Even his 4 goals only resulted in a draw. At least Derbyshire’s goal was a vital one at Stevenage and he helped turn the game against Grimsby.

Below is Austin’s record, just shows stats aren’t everything.
